Pop Culture Jeopardy! is now available to stream on Amazon Prime, and viewers are already gripped after an eventful first episode.

A big plot twist in the first episode of Pop Culture Jeopardy! left fans reeling

New Jeopardy! spinoff series Pop Culture Jeopardy! has dropped, and viewers are already “hooked” just one episode in.

The pop culture trivia series is officially live after the first three episodes have launched on Amazon Prime. Hosted by Colin Jost, the new Jeopardy! spinoff series features questions based on celebrity, movie and TV, sport, internet and more pop culture trivia. Additionally, the show has a new format of three teams with three contestants each competing plus a new “triple play” feature.

The first episode featured a tight game with all three teams taking the lead at different points. However, Final Jeopardy! featured one last final upset with the last place team taking the lead.

The shock ending left viewers reeling. In a Jeopardy! Reddit thread, one viewer wrote: “Just watched the first episode. I’m hooked. What a wild finish!”

Other viewers found the new spinoff “fun” and enjoyed the new features.

“First episode was fun, and I like the addition of the Triple Play tile. I thought FJ was pretty good too, a tough but fair question that made me think,” they wrote.

“Genuinely love every aspect of this show so far,” another viewer wrote, adding: ” I love at a pub quiz/bar trivia and then struggle on history, literature etc. And also think this format of it being in teams rather than solo adds to that-think it would be way more methodical and boring if it was basically Jeopardy with ‘fun’ questions only.”

In the first episode, three teams went up against each other: The Pop Queens featuring Taylor, Haley and Erica; Oops! We Guessed it Again with Cody, Sofia and Queen City Kidz including Anthony and Mason, Samantha and Darcy.

In the first round, Oops! We Guessed It Again got an early lead with Queen City Kidz taking over and then going head-to-head with The Pop Queens. However, by the time the first round ended, Oops! We Guessed it Again took the lead with 6,200 points with the other two teams tied at 4,200 points.

The Pop Queens started taking the lead in the second round. However, Ooops! We Guessed It Again shot up to the lead thanks to a Double Jeopardy. Ahead of Final Jeopardy, Oops! We Guessed It Again looked like they had the clear win with 23,000 points as Pop Queens trailed behind with 14,600 and Queen City Kidz had 9,400.

However, Queen City Kidz came out from behind after being the only team to guess the Final Jeopardy clue correctly.
