NSW Police issue warning to Taylor Swift fans ahead of Sydney Eras concert: ‘It will not be tolerated’

Over 300,000 Swifties are expected to flock to Sydney’s Accor Stadium this weekend for the highly anticipated Eras Tour concert.

NSW police are encouraging the thousands of concertgoers to plan ahead of the weekend to avoid last minute stress.

Acting Assistant Commissioner Andrew Holland announced ‘extra transport services will be made available this weekend and we encourage concertgoers to utilise them’.

Police operations will be in place from Friday 23 February to Monday 26 February to ensure the safety and security of all attendees and staff.

With large crowds expected Acting Assistant Commissioner Holland urged those who don’t have tickets to stay away from the stadium in order to avoid unwanted congestion.

Holland went on to say: ‘Anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated, and police will act in a fair but firm manner to ensure everyone has a good time but not at the expense of other people’s safety, so take care of one another’.

It comes as super fans are in hysterics over the possibility of severe weather cancelling her upcoming shows in Sydney.

Rumours have been swirling ahead of the second leg of Taylor’s Australian tour after the Bureau of Meteorology issued a severe thunderstorm warning.

Heavy rainfall, damaging winds, and large hailstones are expected for much of NSW on Friday and Saturday, placing a question mark above Taylor’s first and second Sydney shows.

However, Taylor has only cancelled two shows in the history of her 16-year career – once in 2011 when she had bronchitis, and another time in 2014 due to the military coup in Thailand.

Taylor is no stranger to rain shows, and several performances on her Eras Tour went ahead during storms; a small delay is the most likely outcome.

The worst case scenario is Sydney’s Friday and Saturday night concerts being rescheduled.

Accor Stadium has stated that events will go ahead despite rain, hail, or shine unless there is a safety risk to the performer.

Sydney’s Accor Stadium is partially covered depending on where your seat is.

While umbrellas may be brought into the stadium, you cannot use them in your seats because you might inconvenience those around you.
