Neil Cavuto is parting ways with Fox News after a remarkable tenure of nearly three decades. The network confirmed Cavuto’s departure, who boasts an estimated net worth of $25 million, with his final appearance scheduled for Thursday.

As Cavuto’s current contract expires next week, sources reveal that despite the network proposing a new deal, an agreement to retain Cavuto was not reached.

“Neil Cavuto’s illustrious career has been a master class in journalism and we’re extremely proud of his incredible 28-year run with Fox News Media,” the network expressed in a statement. “His programs have defined business news and set the standard for the entire industry. We wish him a heartfelt farewell and all the best on his next chapter.”

Alongside primetime’s Sean Hannity, he was among the few remaining anchors who had been with the right-wing network since its inception in 1996. Over the years, he earned a reputation for upholding Fox News’ original mantra of “fair and balanced,” frequently questioning Republicans and conservatives as much as liberals and Democrats.

He currently hosts Your World on weekdays from 4 to 5pm, Cavuto: Coast to Coast on weekdays from 12 to 1pm on Fox Business, and Cavuto Live on Saturdays from 10am to 12pm.

The network announced that his programs will be hosted by rotating anchors until a new show premieres.

The Independent disclosed that Neil Cavuto chose to leave after turning down what was reportedly a generous new contract offer. According to a network source, Cavuto faced a pay reduction with the new deal.

Also, for nearly ten years, Trump has been vocal about his issues with Cavuto’s commentary; however, if this were truly problematic, it would have been addressed significantly earlier. On top of that, talks over the new contract had started before Election Day.

Previously dealing with health challenges including multiple sclerosis, stage 4 cancer, and open-heart surgery, in 2022 Cavuto contracted COVID-19 for the second time, which resulted in an absence from work lasting around five weeks. Post-recovery, Cavuto experienced death threats when he went public with his initial diagnosis and pushed for vaccination as a means of protection, especially for the vulnerable.
