Michael B. Jordan’s Unexpected Move Sent a Clear Message to Tom Cruise
A significant way for the ‘Sinners’ star to respond.
Tom Cruise and the entire Mission: Impossible team are set to premiere what’s believed to be the final installment of the beloved franchise. While the official release date for Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is May 23, 2025, the Global Premiere was held in London on May 15, 2025.
It’s rarely surprising to see a high-profile name attend a movie premiere, but one noteworthy appearance that drew immediate attention was Sinners star Michael B. Jordan.

However, Jordan’s attendance was far from out of the blue, and it sent an extremely clear message to Cruise, who openly showed his support on social media for Sinners. The 62-year-old star posted a photo on Instagram praising the film, director Ryan Coogler and Jordan while holding a movie stub back on April 27, 2025.
Jordan responded to Cruise’s post to show his appreciation, but it’s apparent he saw an opportunity to do more to reciprocate the kind gesture.
“Thanks for the love and support!!! @tomcruise,” Jordan said in a comment on Cruise’s post.
Cruise, who’s long been one of the biggest names in Hollywood, has very rarely, if ever in recent years, posted on social media about movies he’s not involved in. It made his message to Coogler, Jordan and the rest of the Sinners cast even more noteworthy.
Jordan’s arrival at the premiere and interaction with Cruise were revealed by Etalk, and the respect between the two was quickly apparent.
As Etalk pointed out in the video’s caption, Jordan also posted a message on his Instagram to give Cruise and the new Mission: Impossible film another tip of the cap.
“I was too young to see the first Mission Impossible in the theater, but now I get a chance to watch the final one… in IMAX!!!! Much love @tomcruise,” Jordan wrote in the post.
While Cruise’s initial message pointed at Sinners and Jordan rightfully brought high praise from fans, how the 38-year-old star responded was equally as impressive.
