Drew Goins, a Jeopardy! fan-favorite is showing his appreciation for Lisa Ann Walter after stepping in to take her place in the Tournament of Champions. Goins had returned to Jeopardy! for the Champions Wildcard, hoping to earn a spot in the Tournament of Champions. Unfortunately, he lost to Mehal Shah. However, fate was on his side when he was called as an alternate after Walter, a Celebrity Jeopardy! winner, couldn’t participate due to a scheduling conflict.

Goins has been a big fan of Walter, who currently stars as the tough teacher Mellisa Schemmenti on ABC’s Abbot Elementary. To show his gratitude, Goins posted a photo of himself on Instagram wearing a T-shirt with Walter’s face on it. The picture also featured text bubbles from a conversation between Goin’s brother Zach and Lisa Ann. In the messages, Zach explained how Drew had been chosen as an alternate for the Tournament of Champions and mentioned that The Parent Trap, where Walter played the role of Chessy, was a favorite movie growing up. Walter responded with excitement and wished Goins good luck, adding “Now he has to win!”
