James won two rings with Wade and the Heat, but the latter got one more for Miami.

The Miami Heat announced Saturday night that they will honor Dwyane Wade with a bronze statue outside of Kaseya Center. LeBron James took to Instagram to congratulate his former teammate.

James, 39, won two rings with Wade and the Heat, but the latter gave Miami another championship prior to the King’s arrival. They also lost an NBA Finals together to the Dallas Mavericks.

“Congrats Trey!!! That’s major,” James captioned his Instagram Stories post of Wade hearing the statue announcement.

The Cleveland Cavaliers definitely owe LeBron a statue, but Pat Riley probably doesn’t believe his franchise does.

Should the Lakers give LeBron James a statue?

James actually has a better chance of getting a statue in Miami than in Los Angeles. His time with the Lakers, however, is not yet finished.

Should James win another ring with the Purple & Gold, then a statue could become a reality, especially considering his other achievements in recent years.

James led his team to win the first-ever NBA In-Season Tournament and surpassed Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the league’s all-time leading scorer while wearing a Purple & Gold uniform.
