Kris Jenner cosies up to her ‘favourite daughter’ Jennifer Lawrence as the unlikely BFFs reunite at the glitzy Vanity Fair Oscar party

She has made no secret of her love for the Kardashians.

And reality TV super-fan Jennifer Lawrence looked delighted to be reunited with her BFF Kris Jenner on Sunday at the Vanity Fair Oscar party.

The actress, 33, cut an ethereal figure at the bash in semi-sheer floral gown with a  long cascading train.

She added a matching cropped jacket with an upright distressed collar and completed her bridal-style look with a chic updo.

Jennifer cosied up to Kris, 68, who took a style cue from her daughter Kim Kardashian in a shimmering nude gown, adorned with silver embellishments.

The No Hard Feelings star planted a kiss on the momager’s cheek as they posed backstage together.

The pair have had a long-standing friendship, stemming from Jennifer’s adoration of the Kardashian family and their reality shows.

Kris has previously joked that the Hollywood star is her ‘favorite daughter’ in a birthday message in 2020.

Sharing a slew of photos with Jennifer, she wrote: ‘You are the most amazing girlfriend, wife, daughter and my favorite daughter today!!!!! Thank you for your friendship, love, and so much laughter my sides hurt…..’

The stars first bonded in 2015, after Kris was asked to present Jennifer with a cake on her 25th birthday as a special surprise.

Explaining the moment, Kris told Steve Harvey in 2017: ‘Somebody from her team called me up and said, “Would you surprise Jennifer on her birthday” – this was a couple of years ago – “and give her a birthday cake? Like, you’ll be the surprise,”

 ‘And I walked out with this cake. She was so excited, and so excited to see me, and then we just had this little texting friendship from then on, so it was fun. She’s such a great girl.’

The pair famously posed together for a hilarious and suggestive photo in bed during the birthday party.

Jennifer dished about the funny photo on KISS FM UK, joking: ‘We were making love.’

She added: ‘She was a surprise for my birthday, blah-blah-blah. I don’t actually remember how we ended up in bed and that’s the first time I’m saying that.’

From there the two became fast friends, with Jennifer gifting Kris with a toy version of a Porsche in December 2017, after Kris mentioned she wanted the sports car for Christmas.

Jennifer has also bonded with the other members of the family, interviewing Kris’ daughters Kim and Kylie.

In November last year, she chatted to Kylie, 26, for Interview Magazine where she referred to Kris as ‘our mother’.

Speaking to Kim, 43, about a dinner party at Kris’ house on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2017, Jennifer revealed she had ended up naked in Kris’ closet.

Kim said: ‘I’ve never seen my mom more drunk in our lives,’ before footage played of Kris and Jennifer dancing together while holding martinis.

‘And I remember getting naked in your mom’s closet and ordering you to dress me. You dressed me fabulously,’ Jennifer dished.

Kim recalled that Jennifer had wanted her now-ex husband Kanye West to style her, adding: ‘And so I said: “Okay,” and then I come back in and you’re fully butt naked.’

‘I was like, “Um, I’m gonna intercom downstairs and tell him to not come upstairs,” and we put on one of my mom’s dresses and you wore it throughout the whole dinner.’

In 2019, Jennifer’s dreams came true after she made a surprise and hilarious cameo on Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

The Oscar-winner was seen answering the Kris’ phone when Khloe called her mum on FaceTime while painting with Scott Disick.

As Jennifer’s face appeared on the screen, Kris shouted: ‘It’s Jennifer f*****g Lawrence, that’s who you’re talking to’.

A bemused Scott said: ‘Not that you’re not very famous and beautiful but can I talk to Kris?’

Jennifer said: ‘I am the new Kris’ as she drank from a large glass of red wine and added: ‘I honestly think that that piece is completely legit.’

She then quipped: ‘Honestly, I need to be like, real. We wouldn’t be having this much fun if you guys were here.

‘Goodbye, I love you all. You make me so proud every day. You’re doing great, sweetie! You’re doing great!’
