Joe Alwyn has been silent on his April 2023 break-up from Taylor Swift, despite the speculation over what happened to end their six-year relationship, which has only been exacerbated by the release of Taylor’s latest album The Tortured Poets Society.

However, the actor seemed to make a subtle reference to his ex-girlfriend while promoting his new movie, as he shared an image of a cat, which some fans think is a nod to Taylor’s known affinity for felines.

Joe Seemed To Reference Taylor In A Cheeky Post

Last week, Joe took to Instagram to offer a sneak peek into their forthcoming film, Kinds of Kindness, sharing a still from the production. In the movie, Alwyn stars with Taylor’s long-time friend, Emma Stone. Following this official reveal, Alwyn injected some humor into the mix by posting a parody photo featuring himself and Stone depicted as cats.

While the post seemed innocent enough, some fans wondered if it was his attempt at throwing shade towards Taylor, given that she’s known for loving cats.

There’s been speculation over how Taylor and Emma’s friendship has been impacted by her new project with Joe, if at all. Emma made it clear she has no ill will towards her co-star when she recently gushed over working with him, despite rumors that Joe cheated on Taylor, leading to their break up.
