Jeopardy! star Amy Schneider has iconic clapback about ‘awful game’ where she finished ‘in the red’ on Masters
JEOPARDY! star Amy Schneider has followed up on her crash-and-burn performance on Jeopardy! Masters with an instant classic social media post.
On Friday’s Masters semifinal, Amy finished with a staggering -3000 and was removed from the stage for the final clue.

Amy, 44, took to X with thoughts about her worst showing in Jeopardy! history.
In the third-to-last installment of Masters, the famous contestant didn’t just lose her match but bombed out in the deep negatives.
She posted in response, “Listen, I cannot recommend ending a game of Jeopardy in the red. It feels awful!
“But if you insist on doing it anyway, I would strongly encourage you to win, say, 40 or 50 games of Jeopardy first?
“Maybe throw in a ToC win if you can? That really helps take the edge off.”
Amy was referencing her accolades on the game show, which include the second-longest streak ever, winning the 2022 Tournament of Champions, and $1,682,800 in all-time earnings – nothing to sneeze at.
‘NEXT TIME!’
Fans cracked up in the comments section, loving that the quiz star was so quick to shake it off and hoping she can bounce back.
“You are amazing, Amy!” one fan replied.
” I felt really bad for you. You’ve won so many games, so you are still a champion to me. Keep on, keepin’ on!” wrote another.
“I would put Victoria in the Ken, Brad, James level,” remarked a third on her opponents in the special.
“Oh my. You and @mattearoach are my favorite players. We all miss the mark sometimes. You’ll be back in fine form next time,” wrote a fourth.
“Even the greats have bad days but not many can be as good-humored. Here’s to hoping that you will bounce back,” wrote a fifth.
“You gave the winning laugh last night with the Queen Bee anecdote, and the other night mentioning you’ve had to come up with 200+ anecdotes,” wrote a fifth.
‘POOR AMY!’
Amy’s low point came during Masters’ first semifinal episode, with tonight’s second semifinal determining who made the finale.
James Holzhauer, Amy, and newcomers Victoria Groce and Yogesh Raut emerged as the semifinalists.
Sadly, Mattea Roach and Matt Amodio didn’t make the cut and were eliminated before the semis.
And unfortunately, next time wasn’t great as on Monday, Amy was unable to win either game.
Thus, she was also eliminated and placed fourth, joining her 2022 ToC pals in the bottom three.
Amy was given a $100,000 cash prize for her efforts and now there’s just one game left -the finale.
In the last semifinal match, James won both games and Amy played also both games but had no chance to advance by the second one.
This made for a bit of an awkward and anticlimactic second half of Masters’ penultimate night.
“There’s zero point in playing the game lol.” one fan wrote.
“What is going on with poor Amy” wrote another with a crying emoji.
“Finals are now set James vs yogesh vs victoria anti climactic last game,” wrote another.
The finalists are now Yogesh Victoria and James.
The players face off in every which way over the course of just two matches.
Like the semifinals, the finals will see the standings wiped clean so once more it’s anyone’s game.

MASTERS FINALE
Masters 2024 has been nothing short of shocking for James’ fans, meanwhile as he has lost four times.
This is a far cry from Masters 2023 when James only lost once and won the special in a breeze.
Breakout star Victoria – a mere one-day champ from 2005 who mainly honed her skills as The Queen of The Chase – has been called the new frontrunner.
Fans have been blown away by the 2024 JIT winner’s unexpected domination, only losing twice, predicting she may dethrone James and win.
Yogesh, who won the 2024 Tournament of Champions, has also defeated James multiple times this year.
James is having such a tough time that producers are no longer introducing him as the “Final Boss” on-air.
That said, he had a return-to-form episode ahead of the finals, which couldn’t have come at a better time.
Amy came in to the semis a far fourth place, so she seemed like the least likely to make the finals going in.
There were also doubts about her being in Masters 2024 to begin with as she was chosen as the Producer’s Pick over a fourth newbie.
In the finale, the top three will duke it out in a two-game total-point affair.

The Masters grand prize is $500,000, a glitzy Alex Trebek trophy to honor the late iconic host, and the title of Masters Champion.
Masters’ finale is one night only and airs on Wednesday, May 22, at 8 pm ET on ABC.
