Jeopardy! Masters host Ken Jennings gives game-winning tips for tournament contestants after legendary host scored $4.5m

JEOPARDY! host Ken Jennings has revealed a few of his biggest tips when it comes to winning the trivia contest.

After winning millions of dollars as a contestant himself, the 49-year-old gave some advice for those looking to win the big Masters tournament.

Ken began his Jeopardy! hosting journey in 2021 after the death of Alex Trebek the year before.

He split the job with co-star Mayim Bialik, with the two taking turns as host, until her firing last year.

While Mayim, star of The Big Bang Theory, came from a TV background as an actress, Ken came from a background of having been a champ on the very show he was now hosting.

In 2004, he stunned viewers with a 74-game winning streak, racking up over $2.5million throughout his run.

He went on to compete in various Jeopardy! tournaments that brought his winning total up to more than $4.5million.

Now as a host of the very same game show, Ken is giving current contestants a few tips he picked up when he was in their position.

Along with hosting the regular edition of Jeopardy!, he’s also the host of the show’s Masters tournament.

The competition premiered its first season last year and is now in its second going.

The tournament brings together six of the show’s recent top players in a round-robin style contest.

KEN’S TIPS

“You’re playing against people who have all the other great abilities you have, all your knowledge, your ability to take risks,” Ken explained, Hollywood Outbreak reports.

“So, really, it comes down to that particular game, just keeping a cool head and never letting the board get away from you,” the host advised to players.

Each hour-long episode includes two games of various combinations of three contestants.

After beginning at the start of the month, Jeopardy! Masters is now into its last semi-finals episode on Monday before its finals on Wednesday.

Other versions of Jeopardy! have fizzled out throughout the years

END IS NEAR

James Holzhauer, Victoria Groce, Amy Schneider, Matt Amodio, Mattea Roach, and Yogesh Raut were the contestants chosen for Season 2 of Jeopardy! Masters.

After a few episodes, only the top four players qualified for the semi-finals, which began on May 17, and Mattea and Matt did not make the cut.

Going into the second episode of semi-finals on Monday night, Yogesh is currently in first place with 4 match points and 1 game won.

Victoria is in second, James is in third, and Amy follows in fourth.

Jeopardy! Masters fans spot James Holzhauer’s ‘overlooked link’ to Victoria Groce – and think it’s why he’s ‘frustrated’
After the game show shared the stats for the remaining contestants on Instagram, fans begged for anyone to win except for Victoria.

She was revealed to have a 93% correct response percentage, while Yogesh followed closely with 92%, and both James and Amy had 91%.

“I just can’t get behind Victoria,” one fan commented.

“When she’s on the show The Chase, she sits there and knits, almost like she’s saying ‘I’m so much smarter than you that I barely have to pay attention,'” the user added.

“I find it to be very smug and rude. I am team James all the way!”

“Anyone but Victoria,” another fan demanded.
