Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings reveals major show update in off-camera admission

Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings just dropped some exciting news with an off-camera admission that’s bound to thrill fans.

The trivia champ, 50, revealed that for the first time in the show’s history, Jeopardy! is finally heading to streaming platforms, according to a source for The U.S. Sun.

When asked during a recent taping when all 41 seasons of the Emmy-winning series would hit a major platform, Jennings reportedly replied, ‘It is happening, indeed,’ and confirmed ‘early 2025’ is the target.

While he hinted that Jeopardy! will ‘most likely’ land on Hulu or Amazon Prime, the iconic quiz show’s streaming debut isn’t the only thing cooking.

The franchise is also rolling out Pop Culture Jeopardy!, a new spinoff set to stream exclusively on Amazon Prime Video—proof that Jeopardy! is officially stepping into the digital spotlight.

Pop Culture Jeopardy! marks a first in Jeopardy! history—created exclusively for a top 5 streaming service, it’s set to debut on Amazon Prime Video.

Premiering Wednesday, December 4, Pop Culture Jeopardy! will bring the game to Hollywood turf, hosted by none other than SNL’s Weekend Update anchor, Colin Jost.

The series, announced in May and filming since August, is finally ready for its star-studded debut.

This is just one of the big changes hitting the Jeopardy! world this year.

Early last month, news broke that the iconic set is getting a high-tech makeover.

Say goodbye to the individual contestant monitors and hello to a sleek electronic screen—à la Wheel of Fortune’s upgraded puzzle board.

The streaming announcement comes amid buzz that Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings might be on the chopping block for an unexpected reason, per sources cited by The Mirror.

According to insider talk, Jeopardy! producers are reportedly weighing their options, unsure if they’ll stick with Jennings.

One factor? Ratings. Since Ryan Seacrest took over Wheel of Fortune from Pat Sajak last month, viewership has surged—a trend Jeopardy! execs are definitely noting.

Speculation also swirls around SNL’s Colin Jost, who could potentially step in as the main Jeopardy! host.

A Sony insider even hinted to The Sun in August that it’s ‘not unreasonable’ to think Jost—husband to Scarlett Johansson and host of Pop Culture Jeopardy!—could land the flagship gig if his new series proves a hit.

Jennings, the show’s GOAT contestant and solo host since early 2024, took the reins full-time after Mayim Bialik’s exit in December 2023.

But while change could be on the table, sources say Jennings shouldn’t panic just yet.

As one insider explained, ‘The only real reason to replace Ken is if the ratings took a nosedive, and that hasn’t happened yet.’
