Jeopardy! viewers have been coming up with ideas to get Michelle Tsai back on their screens and think they have found the perfect solution after her exit
Viewers have figured out a way to get Michelle back
Jeopardy! viewers have figured out a clever way fan favorite contestant Michelle Tsai can rejoin the show.
Fans of the show saw Michelle, a tutor originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, crash out of the competition when she and her fellow contestants were left stumped by a clue regarding iconic band The Beatles. At the time The Final Jeopardy! category was “The Grammys,” and the clue was: “Best New Artist at the 7th annual Grammys, this band would be nominated the next 6 years but not again until the 39th and 67th events.”

The correct answer to the trivia question was “Who are The Beatles,” but not one of the three contestants answered correctly much to the dismay of fans. Sarah took a shot in the dark with “Who is the Marine Marching Band?” She wagered all of her money, bringing her to $0.

Michelle meanwhile incorrectly answered “Who is Bruce Springsteen,” bringing her down to $8,600 after losing $5,000. Dan was the closest, answering, “Who are the Rolling Stones?” He placed a rare $0 wager, which earned him the win of $17,200.
Michelle has been a popular contestant with viewers
However, viewers think there could be a way for Michelle to redeem herself. Taking to Reddit to discuss it, one wrote: “Michelle Tsai would be a good candidate for Second Chance.”
The comment sparked a conversation with their fellow social media users as they waded in on the suggestion. One said: “I would guess that she is about as firm a lock for a Second Chance invite as any player who has ever lost their first game on the Trebek stage.”
Another then seconded the reply, saying: “Agreed. Between her $18,200 Coryat; her whopping 47 attempts (and she had zero incorrect responses among the clues she got in on); and the fact that she did everything right in gameplay but had bad luck on her DD and then succumbed to Dan’s admittedly gutsy FJ wager; and adding on top of that her great personality and bird-training skills, I absolutely would like to see Michelle back for SCC.

“There are at least a few other players who I feel also strongly deserve SCC slots: Emily Johnson from my second game, who was an absolute beast; Abigail Arnold; and Melanie Hirsch.”
They concluded: “My naming of these 4 players is not meant to exclude others with strong cases; I haven’t reviewed all the candidates so far. In particular I want to take a closer look at Keegan Olson, who I think it’s likely I will end up supporting for SCC. But there are others – it’s a deep field already, 61 games into the 173-game (I think) qualifying period for the 2026 postseason. I do believe that each member of this quartet embodies what I think makes a good SCC selection, and any of them could go far in the postseason.”
A third user quipped: “She has to be the most popular non winner in years.”
