Jeopardy! fans have begged producers of the show to make some major changes to the format ahead of the next season.
The popular game show has resumed regular play for the remainder of Season 41 and fans have already started planning what they would like to see happen when Season 42 comes into play. Taking to social media one fan explained how they had already seen a few changes for the current run of episodes.
They shared: “We had a couple of changes in Season 41. First, the game board went from 36 monitors to one giant screen, along with a new FJ! monitor, though the rest of the set remains unchanged from Season 30 (although a physical Jeopardy! logo was added when Second Chance kicked off).”
The social media user continued on Reddit: “Second, the postseason was shortened significantly. Second Chance and ToC reverted to their Season 39 formats. But most significantly, Champions Wildcard was shortened to just a two-week event, with the format being the same as Trebek-era tournaments. What changes would you like for Season 42? Here are ideas I have in mind…”
They then listed the suggestions sharing their vision further writing: “A complete overhaul of the on-air graphics. Even with there being different opening sequences in Season 38 and midway into Season 40, the graphics and title cards have mostly remained unchanged from Season 37, which was the last time we had a graphics overhaul. Previously, they changed with each new season.

“A new arrangement of both the main theme and “Think!” music done by Bleeding Fingers Music and based on the 1984-2008 themes, where the main theme didn’t stray far from the familiar Think melody at all.”
They then suggested several changes to the set including the “waves backdrop replaced with a checkerboard backdrop similar to the one used on the 1991-96 grid set,” and the “Original 1984-2008 board fill sound (aka the beep-boops) re-instated.”
The suggestions went even further with a possible tournament structure outlined as well as the suggestion to have Ken Jennings record video clues for some episodes. Other uses then commented on the suggestions as they shared their views.
One wrote:”I’m with you on the beep-boops, can’t stand that noise. My desired change involves the TV view of the clue: Find a way to put the category in the clue box. This will be especially helpful with those word play categories where you have to make words out the name of the category.”

Another said: “Whenever a celebrity reads a clue, could we please have the words displayed on screen as well.”
A third offered: “The teen and college tournaments should be in the early fall so they can be filmed in summer when school is out, but then air once school is back in session. Edit with more thoughts: I agree the Invitational Tournament should be a once-in-a-while thing, not annually.
“My galaxy brain idea is that instead of an American sports-style postseason, the tournaments should be like the Champions League and run intermittently during the following season. As the season advances better and better players would get added in until it culminates in the standard ToC.”
