A Jeopardy! contestant shared a full circle moment.
On the Thursday, March 13 episode of the trivia game show, screenwriter and director from Los Angeles, California, Jack Goldfisher, and teacher from Concord, New Hampshire, Liz Engelhardt, faced the two-time champion and nuclear engineer from Frederick, M.D., James Corson.
After the first commercial break, Ken gave each of the contestants to share a story for the audience members and viewers. Liz shared a story about how her husband helps her with trivia and James shared what he plans to do with the money he has won on the show. Jack, on the other hand, revealed that this is not the first time he was invited to the trivia game show.
He said: “I was playing some basketball and broke my thumb and dislocated it. One of the producers reached out the next morning after I had been in the ER until 2-3 a.m. and said ‘great news’ and I texted back ‘not great news’ with a photo of my thumb just about here in my palm.”

Jack admitted that it was his buzzer thumb and that it was the one part of his body that could have disqualified him from playing Jeopardy!
Ken joked and also said that his brain could have been another thing to not let him play and suggested for him to get a thumb john surgery that could make him a “super Jeopardy! player.” Jack responded suspiciously and said: “Who said I haven’t?”
It looked like Jack rejecting his first invitation was well worth it since he actually beat Liz and two time champion James. Jack went into the Final Jeopardy! round with an earning of $20,400 and as the only one to get the clue correct. The category was “Games” and the clue was ” This game inaugurated a craze that ‘scandalized the puritanical and drove chiropractors wild with delight.'” The answer was Twister.
Jack added $12,001 to win with $32,401.
