Fans were tickled by one Jeopardy contestant who was about to ”back Ken Jennings into a corner’ on the latest episode
Jeopardy! fans were amused when a contestant and backed host Ken Jennings “into a corner.”
Wednesday’s episode of the ABC trivia show saw Juveria Zaheer, a psychiatrist from Whitby, Ontario competing against Roger Craig, an applied scientist from Arlington, Virginia and Matt Amodio, a quantitative researcher from New York City in Jeopardy Invitational Tournament. During the anecdote segment, it was Juveria’s anecdote that led to the amusement.
Ken asked her what do people ask you about Jeopardy. The Medical Head of the Emergency Department of the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health said it was the question, do you think Ken Jennings likes you.
“And I say, He is legally obligated not to tell me he likes me. But because we’re here, I figured you could,” Juveria said before trailing off at the end shrugging her shoulders to indicate for Ken to tell her.

Ken responded back that he would phrase it in a “nicer way” and say he’s “obligated to like all the players equally.”
Juveria then inquired, “Do you like me more than Matt?” which caused laughter to erupt from the audience as well as Ken himself.
“I love the idea that people in Ontario are specifically shipping us or something,” Ken exclaimed after laughing.
Juveria shot back, “I think they want us to be best friends, Ken.”
Ken concluded Juveria’s anecdote portion by clarifying to Canada that he is best friends with Juveria and all the players. He added that he loves all Jeopardy! contestants as “they are my people.”

Fans took to the comments in the Jeopardy! subreddit to talk about the “shipping” comment made by Ken while talking with Juveria in the Wednesday (March 5) episode.
One person said: “Loved Juveria’s reaction to Ken mistakingly saying the word, ‘Shipping’ Favorite moment in a while.”
Another fan said responding under Juveria’s Reddit comment, “You were pretty funny and you not only backed Ken into a corner, getting him to claim that ALL J! players are his best friends (you should all expect to stay with him next time you’re in his area, besties! don’t let that go!), but you got him to say that Canadians ‘ship’ you two. Some FINE moments in Jeopardy! history right there.
Juveria did not end up winning the game as she ended with $1,500 after Final Jeopardy!. Matt won with $45,601 and secured his first win this Invitational finals. He is one win away from claiming victory for the entire tournament according to Ken. Roger came in second with $30,397. Him and Juveria are playing tomorrow (March 6) for another shot at winning.
