Jasmine Crockett’s Response to Bernie Sanders, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s ‘Fighting Oligarchy’ Tour Will Shock You
The Texas Rep. said AOC and Bernie Sanders had a “good idea,” but things get more complicated from there.

For nearly six months, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) have been criss-crossing the country speaking to stadium-sized crowds on their “Fighting Oligarchy” tour, which is intended to educate Americans on how President Donald Trump’s policies can be harmful to the country’s most vulnerable people.
But while thousands have come out to hear their message, Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) believes they’re doing it all for the wrong reasons.
Crockett out Ocasio-Cortez and Sanders’ national tour, saying they are using it to promote themselves rather than to help the Democratic Party gain momentum in the fight against Trump and his Republican supporters in Congress.
According to a new profile of Crockett in The Atlantic, the Texas Representative, who threw her hat in the ring to be the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, told Representative. Maxine Dexter (D-OR) in a meeting that she thought the tour was “a good idea,” but is more self-serving than helpful to Democrats’ cause of taking back Congress in the 2026 midterm election and the Presidency in 2028.
Crockett, who has no problem calling out issues she sees in both parties, has been outspoken on everything from Attorney General Pam Bondi’s handling of the Epstein Files to the Democratic Party’s reluctance to support a Black female candidate for President of the United States.
According to The Atlantic, Crockett told Rep. Dexter that she has a “positive relationship” with AOC, but wants to make sure people don’t think their motives are selfish.
The rallies “kind of makes people be like, Oh, it’s about them, right? Instead of the team,” she said.
But Crockett isn’t the only member of Congress who has been critical of the tour. In April, Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) suggested the pair replace the word “oligarchy” with “king” in the title, to appeal to everyday Americans.
