Internet Detectives Quickly Identified The Jaw-Dropping Kentucky Fan Who Broke The Internet During Wildcats’ March Madness Loss

Sad Kentucky fan

The downcast female who went viral during Kentucky’s shocking March Madness loss on Thursday night has been identified by internet detectives.

March Madness has already produced a wild upset, as it’s known to do, with the Wildcats losing 80-76 to Oakland.

One fan went viral during the game as her face summed up the general feeling around Kentucky after the program fell to the No. 14 seed. You can see the now-famous photo right below.

According to OutKick, the fan has been ID’d as Madison Sheppard Willington, the sister of star Wildcats guard Reed Sheppard. Madison also played college basketball for Campbellsville University.

Sheppard Willington doesn’t have a huge social media presence and appears to be a very private person. While she does have an Instagram account, it is protected.

Meanwhile, Kentucky head coach John Calipari has been drawing criticism for his comments after the March Madness loss as many took them to mean he was throwing his players under the bus.

Calipari explained that some of his players did not play up to the required level despite the excellent preparation.

“The preparation, I thought they were in a great [spot],” he said. “We tried to keep them loose, but when the game started they were just…you had some guys not play to the level they could play.”

Kentucky Fans Aren’t The Only Ones Who Want John Calipari Fired Following Kentucky’s Loss

Popular sports analyst Skip Bayless has called for Calipari to lose his job following Thursday night’s March Madness upset.

Bayless argued that it’s time for a change on his ‘Undisputed’ show on FS1 this Friday, pointing out that the program is not doing enough with the players they have and keeps disappointing season after season.  He also reminded everyone that they have only won a single SEC Tournament game in the last four years.

Despite the disheartening loss, it would still come as a surprise if the Wildcats part ways with the head coach, who has been filling the role since 2009.
