HOT TAKE ‘LeBron James has to take a step back’ claims Undisputed star despite ‘great numbers’ in Lakers defeat by Warriors

Pierce gave examples of two games where the Lakers played better without LeBron on the court

NBA legend Paul Pierce thinks the key to the Los Angeles Lakers finding success is LeBron James taking a smaller role.

In an extremely hot take on Undisputed, Paul Pierce claimed that LeBron needs to “step back” and allow the team to function without the ball in his hands.

“I’m tired of the Lakers,” Pierce said.

“Yea, the Lakers are gonna lose and LeBron is gonna get 40. He’s great at getting his stats.

“But the truth of the matter, when I’ve been watching the Lakers this year, yes, LeBron’s been great numbers-wise, but he’s got to take a step back.”

James is having a great season for being 39 years old. He is averaging 25.5 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 8.1 assists per game.

However, the Lakers are only 36-32 and hold the No. 10 seed in the Western Conference, the last spot in the Play-In field.

Pierce thinks that the team would be in a better position of LeBron spread the ball around more and let his teammates thrive.

“He gotta give the ball up a little more,” Pierce said.

“When LeBron sat out, who’d they beat? Milwaukee, a contender. D-Lo went for 40.

“They went to Boston and got a win without LeBron. I think he’s older, he needs to take a step back. The less he does, the more there’s gonna be for the team.

“Their two most impressive wins in the last two weeks are Milwaukee and Boston, and LeBron didn’t play in either one of them!”

NBA fans didn’t agree with Pierce’s critique, calling him and the Undisputed cast haters.

“Bron hater team assembled,” one fan said.

“Paul you’ve hated LeBron from day 1 and he even spoiled your retirement ceremony on a Sunday afternoon,” another fan said.

“Two of the biggest lebron haters like hurry up and cancel this boring ass show nobody’s watching that for over 2 hours,” a third fan said.

“Hey, Skip finally found someone who hates LeBron has much as he does,” a fourth fan said.
