Hoda Kotb Reacts to Kevin Costner Romance Rumors After Super Bowl Photo

Hoda Kotb is having some fun with all the buzz from fans who want her to date Kevin Costner. Talk of the two potentially getting together began in 2024 and was intensified after the former Today host posted a photo with the actor at last month’s Super Bowl.
When Kotb was asked about the dating speculation, she didn’t shy away from leaning into the chatter.
“Isn’t it sort of weird that he always ends up where I am?” she teased in an interview with Us Weekly. “I mean, I’m just living my life, and there he is. It just keeps happening. When is it not a coincidence anymore? That’s what I was wondering.”

Kotb interviewed Costner on Today With Hoda & Jenna in June 2024. Viewers thought the two had amazing chemistry, and the journalist was asked about it while appearing on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen the next month. However, she admitted that she’d “never, ever heard” the talk about her and Costner but certainly didn’t seem put off by the idea. “Well, if the viewers want it…” she said.

Later that month, Kotb discussed the situation with Jenna Bush Hager on Today, and Hager revealed that people were pushing her to set up her cohost with the Yellowstone star. “I was like, ‘Wow, I didn’t realize they were flirting behind my back,’” she joked.
All jokes aside, Kotb praised Costner for being “down-to-earth” when he appeared on Today. In October 2024, he also told Entertainment Tonight, “She’s been great to me. When I go back there, people treat me well. They treat me good. And she’s got a spark, and we’ve never had coffee together.”
The Super Bowl photo sent everyone into a frenzy, including Kotb’s former Today colleagues. “New couple alert cc @jennabhager,” Savannah Guthrie commented, to which Hager replied, “@savannahguthrie we have been waiting for this moment!”
