Chandler Parsons and LeBron James
The Los Angeles Lakers have been eliminated from the playoffs, as they fell to the Nuggets in Game 5. Denver swept the Lakers last year in the Conference Finals and this time managed to gentleman sweep them in the first round of this postseason. LeBron James and Anthony Davis both led the squad in almost every attribute, however, it wasn’t enough to get past the reigning champs.
Looking back at the season, the Lakers carried a lot of expectations initially. On the other hand, critics as well as fans have pointed fingers at the coaching staff, the players, or the front office. According to former NBA player, Chandler Parsons, LeBron James is the one to have the blame on. For years, fans have considered James to be the coach, general manager, as well as the leader of the team. Parsons talked in the same context, hitting at the trade deadline.
He (Darvin Ham) didn't construct this team. Spencer Dinwiddie wasn't his big move at the deadline... Yes a lot of him falls on him, but when it's LeBron James team, a lot of that is on him. We all know damn well he's pretty much the coach, the GM, and the owner of this team... Usually, the coach is the fall guy.Chandler Parsons said on Run It Back
James left it all on the floor this postseason, leading his team at 39 years old. However, one of the points from Parsons that stands true is the problem with the roster. The Lakers are lacking deep shooters, backup scorers, as well as a reliable presence in the paint other than AD.
LeBron James hinted at his decision to stay with the Lakers
Following the Game 5 loss, James was asked about his future with the Lakers. The King joined the Lakers back in 2018, and have since won a championship and missed the playoffs twice. However, James was active behind LA’s multiple moves in the offseason as well as during the trade deadlines.
From Anthony Davis to Russell Westbrook, James has been behind the curtains for most of the transactions. When asked about staying with the Lakers, King James did not want to reveal any facts.
Uhm, I'm not going to answer that.LeBron James said
His answer may seem neutral but it does indicate that his departure from LA is a strong possibility. However, it will depend on a lot of factors including the Lakers’ offseason moves as well as his son, Bronny James‘ draft. It will be interesting to see whether James will look to move from LA or go for another run in Hollywood.
