Gwen Stefani shocks fans with new look to promote prayer app as they ask ‘what happened to Hollaback Girl?’
GWEN Stefani has shocked fans with a very different look while promoting a prayer app, Hallow.
The Voice coach, 55, ditches her signature sexy look for a modest plaid dress as she decorates the Christmas tree in the video, and speaks about “celebrating the birth of our Lord.”

“Christmas season has always been my favorite time of the year,” Gwen gushes in the ad for Christian prayer app Hallow.
“It’s the season that we get to celebrate the birth of our Lord.
“This year, I’m excited to share that I’ve partnered with this amazing prayer, meditation and music app called Hallow on their 25-day prayer challenge leading up to Christmas called Advent Pray 25.
“Join me and millions of other Christians around the world as we celebrate together the truth that God so loved the world, that he gave us his only son.
“Download Hallow and join me in praying every day. God bless!”
SO BANANAS
The pop star’s longtime fans did a double-take after watching the clip, which features a much more modest and demure Gwen than they were used to.
“This… is the person who gave us Hollaback Girl? Is that right?” one follower tweeted.
“There’s no way this is real right?” questioned another. “I can’t believe my eyes.”
“This s**t is bananas,” wrote a third, playing off a signature lyrics in Gwen’s 2004 hit Hollaback Girl.
A fourth believed the video was possibly AI.
Other followers believed her marriage to conservative country singer Blake Shelton “changed” the punk-rock style she once had.
‘TURN TO MY FAITH’
However, others argued that Gwen has been vocal about her beliefs for years.
“She has always been open about her faith,” one fan said. “This isn’t out of character for her personal life.”
Gwen has spoken about how her spirituality helped her bounce back from her divorce from ex Gavin Rossdale in 2015.
Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani Timeline
Blake, 47, and Gwen, 52, began dating in 2015 after meeting on the set of the NBC reality show The Voice.
Both were fresh out of lengthy failed marriages.
After a five-year relationship, the celebrity couple got engaged in 2020.
The Hollaback Girl singer announced their engagement on social media as she flashed her blinged-out hand while sharing a kiss with her hubby.
Blake also shared the same picture on his Instagram, writing, “Hey Gwen, thanks for saving my 2020… And the rest of my life.. I love you. I heard a YES!”
Less than a year later, on July 3, 2021, the couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at Blake’s Oklahoma ranch.
The two seem to have now found their forever loves, after leaving a trail of drama from past relationships behind them.
“For me, I was turning to my faith right away. That was a seed that my mom planted in me when I was a little girl,” she said in 2021.
Blake has also spoken about Gwen’s reliance on religion.
“She has such a strong faith in God,” he said in 2022. “That’s No. 1 in her life and has been her whole life.
“She doesn’t beat you over the head with it. She would never do that. That’s her relationship.”
