The pop star recalled the struggles of balancing tour life with being a mom to her three sons while appearing on The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Show’s podcast.
The Rich Girl singer delved back into her days on tour with her band, No Doubt – who is set to reunite for a show at this year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
Gwen said her youngest Kingston, now 17, would come along with her on tour in the early days.
The artist got pregnant with her second son, Zuma, now 15, shortly after the tour ended.
Gwen recalled going back on tour with two children at the time, noting how much more difficult it was.
She detailed feeling “guilty and selfish” about having to leave her kids and go work, adding that she would get frustrated when she felt the time away was wasted.
“I’m not with my kid, and I’m like spending time wasting it because I’m not good enough to write a frickin song,” she said.
Gwen later welcomed her third son Apollo, now 9.
BAND’S BACK TOGETHER
While Gwen’s kids may be more grown up now, the Rich Girl singer may turn back the clock by going on tour with No Doubt again, following their Coachella performance.
When it came to the band’s reunion, a source told Us Weekly that Gwen had been “pushing for it hard.”
Gwen Stefani reunites with No Doubt and reveals tour plans after 10 years of fans begging the singer to return to band
“Once the Coachella team heard they had been talking and reached out with the offer, it really solidified the reunion.
“The whole group has some ideas for new material and are open to a tour directly after [their] performance,” the insider revealed.
“Gwen is thrilled. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”
SQUASHING SPECULATION
At the same time, Gwen’s husband will embark on his own nationwide tour.
The news of Gwen and Blake’s disparate plans as they focus on their own careers comes after fan speculation surrounding their marriage.
Last month, a source shared that Blake was “really upset” and “disappointed” that he and his wife didn’t spend New Year’s together, according to Life & Style.
The insider also claimed that they were going through a rough patch, saying, “Gwen and Blake’s marriage is definitely in trouble.
“Lately, they’ve been at odds about everything from career decisions and the parenting of her three boys to where they spend most of their time.”
They concluded, “The tension continues to grow, and Blake and Gwen are drifting apart as a result.”
But despite speculation, the two recently made an exciting joint announcement.
The couple, who met as judges on The Voice and tied the knot in 2021, have a new love song coming out.
Gwen recently shared a teaser of the track, which showed both her and Blake singing into the mic inside a recording studio.

At one point, the two were heard singing the lyrics, “No I never knew a love like this, now we’re picking purple irises.”
The lyric mimics text written on a Polaroid photo of her and her husband shared to Instagram last week, where Gwen seemingly shut down rumors the two were headed for a divorce.
