Grant County Sheriff’s Office urges residents to avoid travel amid severe flooding
LANCASTER, Wis. — The Grant County Sheriff’s Office is urging residents to avoid travel due to the “substantial and torrential rainfall,” it has received thus far.
The sheriff’s office reported northern and western Grant County are currently experiencing severe flash flooding.
The Grant County 9-1-1 center is receiving numerous calls regarding the conditions and has activated emergency management, the Grant County Highway Department, along with local fire departments to assist with these issues.
The sheriff’s office asks residents to contact family members living in the affected areas to check on them to make sure they are aware of the conditions and to check their houses for flooding.
Bagley and Boscobel Fire Departments are opening their doors for residents who need to evacuate due to flooding.
