Will Cain to Host New Afternoon Show on Fox News Channel
Fox News host and commentator Will Cain is set to receive his own afternoon time slot on the Fox News Channel, the network announced on Monday. Cain, who has been a co-host on “Fox & Friends Weekend” for four years, will transition to his new role as host of “The Will Cain Show,” which will air weekdays at 4 PM Eastern Time.
In a press release, Cain expressed his enthusiasm about the new opportunity: “It has been an honor to wake up with America these past four years, and I am thrilled to apply my background in news, law, entertainment, and business to help our viewers better understand the headlines through thought-provoking content and analysis every weekday afternoon.”
Fox News Media described “The Will Cain Show” as a program that will provide “a comprehensive look at the news of the day in a signature podcast style.” The show will feature in-depth discussions on current events and will include conversations with prominent figures from the fields of politics, business, culture, and sports.
As part of the transition, Cain will leave his role on “Fox & Friends Weekend,” where he has been a mainstay alongside Pete Hegseth and Rachel Campos-Duffy. He will be replaced by Fox News contributor Charlie Hurt, who is currently the opinion editor at The Washington Times. Hurt will step down from his editorial role to take on the new weekend co-hosting duties. Cain’s final appearance on “Fox & Friends Weekend” is scheduled for January 18.
Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott highlighted the strategic nature of these programming changes, stating, “As the media landscape continues to evolve, we are always looking to innovate our programming lineup to meet the needs of our viewers, and we are confident the new lineup will best position Fox News Media for the future. Will Cain brings years of experience to the 4 PM hour as an accomplished broadcaster and a lawyer, and we look forward to adding his insights to what will no doubt be another historic news cycle ahead this year.”
Cain, who also hosts “The Will Cain Show” as a podcast from Monday through Thursday, will continue producing new episodes in addition to his television role. His podcast blends discussions on news and sports while encouraging listener engagement. This dual platform approach will allow Cain to reach a broad audience across different media formats.
Shortly after the announcement, Cain took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his excitement with his followers. “So I’ve got some news. And I couldn’t be more excited!” he wrote, further building anticipation for the new show.
Cain’s career has spanned multiple major media outlets, including ESPN, where he hosted “The Will Cain Show” on ESPN Radio from January 2018 to June 2020. He has also contributed to CNN and Blaze Media, bringing a diverse range of experience to his new role at Fox News.
In addition to Cain’s new show, Fox News Media also announced other programming changes. Dagen McDowell will join “The Big Money Show” on Fox Business Network, which will expand to a two-hour format airing from 12 to 2 PM Eastern Time on weekdays starting January 27. She will also continue her co-hosting duties on “The Bottom Line” in the 6-7 PM Eastern Time slot.
With these latest programming updates, Fox News Media continues to adjust its lineup to engage audiences in an ever-changing media landscape. Cain’s new afternoon show is expected to bring his signature style of analysis and discussion to viewers, further solidifying his presence at the network.
