Jesse Watters has criticized California’s leadership during Thursday’s opening Fox News monologue, questioning “who’s in charge” in response to the LA fires.
Jesse Watters says ‘everyone wants’ US citizenship
“[Gavin] Newsom slashed the budget for water projects. He blocked a move to bring water into Southern California and he started tearing down dams,” Jesse began.
“He hasn’t built a single reservoir. The last time California built a reservoir – almost 50 years ago. Instead, they let billions of gallons of stormwater just wash into the sea.
“The hydrants wouldn’t be running dry if they stored the storm water. L.A. ranks dead last in the west for saving storm water. This whole episode symbolizes liberalism. It doesn’t build anything. It only destroys,” he went on to claim.
“People and businesses have been fleeing California for years.
“Now you understand why they have a drug, crime, homelessness problem,” the news anchor continued, stressing: “But if you’re a wealthy California liberal, it doesn’t affect you. Inflation doesn’t bite.
“The migrants keep your lawns nice. Crime doesn’t get through your gates. You drive right by the homeless. Your money makes you immune from liberal governance. Until now. America is reaching a turning point.
“We don’t have to live like this. We deserve better,” Jesse declared, before concluding: “You pay 13% state income tax and they can’t put out a fire. Where’s the money going?”
Jesse’s brazen take on who is to blame didn’t sit well with viewers. One person @BMeiselas fumed: “To Fox and MAGA influencers, this may be a game. But when you’re evacuated, watching friends, family, and neighbors struggle, just trying to find accurate safety information, it becomes clear how truly cruel they are. How dare they.”

A second person @klhodges13 agreed, adding: “This is just horrible. People have lost their houses and almost every thing they owned and also their community. It will take years to get close to where they were before the fire. FOX should be ashamed.”
Another user @AngelusGB added: “That’s diabolical. Politicalising a major climate disaster is not the way. They need to work that out & do better. Over 100k evacuated (present nr will be much higher by now) many seeing their homes burnt to a ground & people in shock or hurt etc. is when a united front is needed.”
While @carolynmurray19 simply branded Jessem “heartless”.
