Fans Are Loving Angel Reese’s Two-Word Message to New Chicago Sky Teammate

Angel Reese’s WNBA career officially got underway Wednesday night, making her debut for the Chicago Sky in an 87-79 loss to the Dallas Wings.

Reese, selected No. 7 overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft, finished her debut game with 12 points, 8 rebounds and an assist in 26 minutes on the floor.

Reese and the Sky will be back in action on Saturday – but before then, the WNBA rookie is taking some time to reflect on her first-ever game in the pros. On Thursday, she quoted a viral video from the opener which featured her and teammate Kysre Gondrezick.

“my pookie,” Reese said, along with the ‘heart eyes’ emoji.

Gondrezick, the No. 4 overall pick in the 2021 WNBA Draft, began her professional career with the Indiana Fever. She played in 19 games during her rookie year and averaged just under 2 points per game before being waived by Indiana in January of 2022.

Signed by Chicago to a training camp contract earlier this year, Gondrezick officially made the Sky’s opening roster earlier this week. She did not appear in Chicago’s opener against Dallas, however.

The Sky will play regular season game number two on Saturday night.

Tipoff for the matchup against Dallas is set for 8:00 p.m. ET.
