Dwyane Wade’s Message For Angel Reese, Chicago Sky On WNBA Opener

Before the Chicago Sky’s WNBA season-opener on Wednesday night, Chicago native and NBA legend Dwyane Wade was hyped up to watch the local team start another season.

The Sky, who won the WNBA title in 2021, drafted Angel Reese with the No. 7 overall pick in last month’s draft.

The Dallas Wings’ arena hosted a sellout crowd for Reese’s WNBA debut, which the Wings went on to win 87-79.

Before the game began, Wade sent out a message to Reese and the squad, wishing them well as they embark on another season with title aspirations.

“Road to trophy (trophy emoji) number 2 begins tonight. Let’s go Chicago Sky,” Wade posted to social media.

The season did not start as Reese and head coach Teresa Weatherspoon hoped. The rookie sensation still turned heads in her WNBA debut, showing some flashes but struggling overall.

Reese hit on five-of-14 shot attempts, scored 12 points, and had eight assists. But she recorded five fouls and went just two-of-eight from the free-throw line.
