Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s daughter Simone looks unimpressed sitting next to Selena Gomez at 2025 Golden Globes
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s daughter Simone looked unimpressed as she sat next to Selena Gomez at the 2025 Golden Globes on Sunday before her famous father had an awkward moment with Vin Diesel years after they clashed on the set of 2017’s The Fate of the Furious.
Simone sat in between her 52-year-old former WWE World Champion father and the 32-year-old Only Murders In The Building star at the gala event.
However, she did not seem too invested in the festivities as she was caught in the background not reacting to Seth Rogen and Catherine O’Hara’s comedy gag.
The two Canadians were on-hand to present the award Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television when they made some rather raunchy jokes.
Simone, 23, who is currently the General Manager of WWE’s NXT developmental brand under the ring name Ava, did not react to any of the gags.
Seth and Catherine made up awards that they had won in their native Canada before the two turned up the heat and got really raunchy.

Seth said: ‘Here in Canada we don’t have America’s Puritanical roots, so pornographic films are as lauded as non-pornographic films. I also did a lot of Canadian adult work: Log Riders was great, Sticky Syrup, of course, The Moose Knuckles trilogy.’
Catherine replied: ‘Oh my God, Moose Knuckles 2 was a massive hit!’
Simone did not react but her famous father could be seen giggling to himself about the joke.
Then Seth went on to say: ‘Oh yes, Moose Knuckles 2: Knuckles Deep won Canada’s most illustrious film award.
‘We won a Beaver, we actually swept the Beavers that year. It was a multi-Beaver-winning film. My mother especially loves Knuckles Deep.’
That was when Dwayne and even Selena could be seen chuckling but Simone had no visible reaction other than covering her face.
Minutes after Seth and Catherine’s funny presentation was met with nothing from Simone, her father Dwayne had a bit of an awkward encounter with former foe Vin Diesel.
Diesel, 57, and Johnson had starred in Fast Five, Furious 6 and The Fate of the Furious, though Johnson made headlines for a post calling out one of his co-stars he did not name, though it was later confirmed to be Diesel.

Their beef resulted in Johnson essentially leaving the main franchise, moving on to film the spin-off Hobbs & Shaw with Jason Statham.
Many fans took note of the awkward mention on the Golden Globes stage, which happened when Diesel went to present the box office achievement award.
Before presenting the award, Diesel looked down and said, ‘Hey Dwayne,’ as Johnson just smiled as a few in the audience awkwardly laughed.
While Johnson just laughed it off, some even thought it could have lead to a situation similar to Will Smith’s slap of Chris Rock at the Oscars in 2022.

@big_business_ said, ‘You can cut the tension between The Rock and Vin Diesel with a knife.’

X user dubbed @Abtilibaan joked, ‘The Rock wanted to hit Vin Diesel with the Peoples elbow.’
@Eazy_Bake added ‘Vin Diesel better stop playing with the Rock. After this last Fast and Furious movie, it’s over for dude.’
Christian Chavez (@ChrisCinephile) added ‘He’s playing nice because if he insults The Rock, Vin Diesel has to fight Oba Femi on a random episode of NXT.’
@JessicaKnapik said, ‘Wait vin diesel and the rock have long standing public beef that’s why he said sup Dwayne, on the mic that’s actually so funny we love petty.’
The feud betweeen Vin and The Rock first came to light in August 2016 when Vin released a since-deleted post on Instagram.
‘Some [male co-stars] conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don’t. The ones that don’t are too chicken s**t to do anything about it anyway. Candy a**es,’ he began.
‘When you watch this movie next April and it seems like I’m not acting in some of these scenes and my blood is legit boiling—you’re right,’ he said.
While Johnson later deleted the post, he seemed to allude to a reconciliation, posting a few days later, ‘Family is gonna have differences of opinion and fundamental core beliefs.

The actors were not seen together in any press tours or any scenes in the actual movie itself.
Johnson seemed to have buried the hatchet with Diesel in 2019, stating in an Instagram post, ‘Lastly, but not least, want to thank brother Vin for your support of Hobbs & Shaw.’
However, a few years later when Diesel said he was simply giving Johnson some ‘tough love,’ Johnson made it clear he was not returning to the franchise at that time, though he’d seemingly later have a change of heart.
‘I laughed and I laughed hard. I think everyone had a laugh at that. And I’ll leave it at that. And that I’ve wished them well,’ Johnson said.
