Celine Dion Fan Misses Clue About Her on ‘Jeopardy!’

While Jeopardy! is full of geniuses, sometimes fans are left scratching their heads about how a contestant could answer a clue so incorrectly. In a recent Jeopardy! episode, one of the contestants was Drew Goins, a writer for The Washington Post. He seemed to be a big Celine Dion fan … until he got a clue wrong about her.
During his introduction, he thanked his competitors as he did in a previous game and added, “John, the producer, suggested, long story, that I thank Celine Dion. So, thank you, Celine Dion.”

During the game, a question about Dion came up, and fans thought that Goins would definitely get it right. The clue fell under “’90s No. 1 hits” for $2,000. Host Ken Jennings read, “Sharing its title with an earlier, more upbeat Huey Lewis hit, it was No. 1 for Celine Dion in 1994.”

Goins couldn’t come up with the answer and even walked offstage for a minute after Jennings joked, “She’s gonna be mad, Drew.” The answer was: What is “The Power of Love?” Goins joked that perhaps the reason he couldn’t come up with the answer was because he was born in 1994, making him a baby when the song was released.
Goins previously made a flub on a clue about Taylor Swift but was able to redeem himself by answering another clue correctly. Hoping he can do the same with the legendary Celine Dion!
