Charissa Thompson has recalled the heartbreak of finding out her boyfriend was cheating on her during a trip to Hawaii

Charissa Thompson opened up on the heartbreak she endured during a trip to Hawaii with her ex-boyfriend and the touching role Kate Hudson played just a day after finding out she was being cheated on.

The popular sportscaster has endured plenty of romantic ups and downs throughout her life but appears to be going strong with current boyfriend and businessman Steven Cundari, who she has been dating since 2022. However, things haven’t always been so rosy for the 42-year-old, who once revealed the shocking ordeal she had to endure with one of her former partners during their vacation.

Speaking on her successful ‘Sit Down’ podcast with co-host Erin Andrews, Thompson brought up the time she found out her ex-boyfriend was cheating on her during a romantic getaway to Hawaii, having “intercepted a text message” from another woman he was seeing in conjunction with the former Fox Sports broadcaster.

Thompson immediately flew back home as a result but had an interview lined up with actress and singer Hudson the next day, which couldn’t have come at a worse time. However, it proved to be a major moment in helping her cope with her recent heartbreak, as Hudson went to extra effort to ensure she had someone by her side.

“I flew back from Hawaii. I had to go straight to a junket, drop the bags, find out my life is not what I thought it was, and I am going to interview Kate Hudson,” Thompson began on the ‘Sit Down’ podcast. “And she looks at me, mind you, never having met her. She goes, ‘Are you okay?’ And I go, ‘Nope. I just found out my boyfriend cheated on me. I had to fly back from Hawaii. I also knew he had an engagement ring because my mom told me that. And so now I’m sitting here.'”

Addressing her co-host and best friend, Thompson said: “She said this, Erin, ‘give me your phone.’ I go, ‘What?’ I hand it to her,” Charissa continued. “She puts her phone number in and said, ‘You call me, and we’re going to go get a drink and talk about this.’ I like, started to tear up, and she goes, ‘uh-uh, let’s do this interview and we’ll talk after.’”

Since then, Thompson has successfully moved on with her life and is now enjoying her current relationship with Cundari. However, having already been divorced twice previously, with the latest of those coming in April 2022 when the Fox NFL host filed for divorce from sports agent Kyle Thousand, she has no immediate plans to tie the knot a third time.

In fact, Amazon Prime’s Thursday Night Football host has already revealed her discussion about marriage with Cundari, bluntly stating: “I am never getting married again. We have already talked about it. We have already gone through all the reasons why.”

The couple went public with their relationship in July 2022 and often share their love for each other on social media, but when Andrews joked about the couple potentially disguising a surprise wedding as a summer party, Thompson doubled down on her stance, adding: “Listen, I will have a party, though. There’s just not going to be vows.

“Who cares about the vows anyway? No one wants to listen to that s— and promises and this and that. Do that on your own time. People just want to show up for the party. So, if you want me to have a party, I can do that. I’m just not going to have a wedding.”
