Sportscaster Charissa Thompson was hailed by Amazon Prime Video’s official social media page as they paid tribute to the popular reporter as part of International Women’s Day.
The journalist has become a household name with her work for FOX Sports since 2013, with her role as the host of “NFL Kickoff” bringing her to a nationwide audience. However, her future with the network remains uncertain, with the sideline reporter’s contract having expired at the close of the 2024 NFL season.
Alongside colleague and close friend Erin Andrews, who is also now out of contract, it remains to be seen whether Thompson will sign new terms. In the meantime, rival firm Amazon Prime hailed the TV personality as they also celebrated some of the media’s brightest talents including Taylor Rooks and Kaylee Hartung.
Taking to Instagram, the network’s official account paid tribute to Thompson, who is the host of “Thursday Night Football” on the streaming service. The post, which featured a graphic of the fan favorite alongside Rooks and Hartung featured the caption: “Celebrating the incredible women of #TNFonPrime on International Women’s Day!”
As speculation surrounds her future with FOX, it appears that Thompson is calm about the situation as she spoke to aforementioned colleague Andrews about the situation on their “Calm Down With Erin & Charissa” podcast. She said: “I think my goal is always kind of the same as last year. Enjoy it, because it’s not going to last forever, especially when your contract is up — and mine is.”
Meanwhile, the broadcaster also expressed her gratitude towards the network for how they treated her family members during the recent Super Bowl. She said: “I just have to say one thing — and this is also what I am going on and on about Fox, and I swear, I mean it’s not just because my contract’s up.
I love Fox so much because my brother and my dad came to the Super Bowl, and Fox is family to me, so my own family like sharing in those moments. It was so fun, and Fox just makes them feel so welcome and makes sure they’re included in the events and everything. So I just would be remiss if I didn’t mention how wonderful my extended work family is to my own family.”
As for what the future may hold, Thompson acknowledged that she could embark on a job in local news, saying: “Erin and I also have an affinity for local news. There’s going to be a time in our lives.

“I hope it’s a retirement community in Florida or somewhere where they can roll us out and we can work like a couple days a week. And The Morning News or anytime like the Evening News. Can you imagine?”
Irrespective of her contract situation, the former ESPN employee still is holding out hope of being with FOX when the network has the rights to broadcast the Super Bowl – with the 2029 edition potentially set to take place in Las Vegas. She said: “I really hope I’m still employed by FOX when FOX gets a Vegas Super Bowl.
“This is epic, it’s Tuesday, it’s nutty, I wish the weather was better, but this is crazy. I just did a panel, and they were serving me like bloody Marys. The people were drinking at 9am when I was on the panel. It was nuts.”
