Carol Vorderman has revealed she is stepping down from her radio show after a recent hospital scare as she admitted to experiencing ‘burnout’
Carol Vorderman has revealed she is stepping down from her Sunday radio show on LBC after a recent hospital scare.
The presenter, 63, took to Instagram on Friday and confessed to fans she had experienced ‘burnout’ and found herself in hospital overnight.
The TV star admitted she had worked herself too hard after working seven days in a row for several weeks repeatedly and has made the decision to step back, after getting her own show on the station last year.
She told fans: ‘Hello, I’ve got some news to share with you.
‘After working 7-day weeks for as long as I can remember, I finally burned out just over two weeks ago and I ended up overnight in hospital.

‘Luckily, after many scans and checks, we know that I don’t have any underlying health issues whatsoever.
‘So, after a proper talking to from my family and my buddies, I’ve taken the health scare as a warning sign to slow down slightly and have decided to cut my work back to weekdays for now.’
Carol was heartbroken to take a step back from her role at LBC as she continued: ‘It pains me to have to do it, but I’ve decided not to carry on with my Sunday show on @LBC.
‘I’m fed up that I’ve had to make the decision, as the show’s been really lively and a total joy, with so many new callers from around the country and growing numbers of listeners.
‘The good news is that I’ll still be part of the LBC family (they’re a good family) from time to time – so stand by for more details.
‘Meanwhile, I’ll continue to cause trouble and carry on tuning into LBC too.’
Thanking fans and the team at LBC for their support, she added: ‘Thank you once again for your extraordinary support and to all my new friends at LBC – you’ve been amazing.
‘I’ll be continuing to make a lot of mischief and call out corruption and wrongdoing – that isn’t stopping but for now an ever so slightly less frenetic chapter begins. Love ya ❤️❤️’.

Fans rushed to the comments to send Carol their love as they told her to take it easy on herself.
They penned: ‘Be kind to yourself. Rest up recharged and keep up the good work.’;
‘Look after yourself please. We need you. What you do is amazing and you can only keep doing it if you are well. Sending you [heart emoji]’;
‘so proud of you’; ‘Take care Carol…more walks and chilling’; ‘Oh no Carol, so sorry to hear that, but it’s so important to take care of yourself and your health – and it’s tough working 7-day weeks – so you’re doing the right thing here’.
It comes after Carol revealed last month she ‘doesn’t give a toss’ about what people say about her looks as she shared the secret to her age-defying physique.
The former Countdown star is no stranger to showcasing her jaw-dropping figure in sexy outfits and says it’s all thanks to a ‘good bra and sprouts’.
Speaking to Saga Magazine Carol explained how she fasts intermittently and carries the raw veg around in her handbag to snack on during the day.

She told the publication: ‘I wear a good bra and jeans that hold you up. I generally have one meal a day – late afternoon’.
But Carol also admitted ‘not being happy’ with herself at present after missing months of gym sessions due to a knee injury and working on her new book What Now? On A Mission To Fix Broken Britain.
Nevertheless when it comes to other’s opinions on her appearance she declared: ‘I don’t give a toss about what people say about how I look’.
‘I’m also old enough to not care about what anyone else thinks about me’.
