Cameron Brink and the LA Sparks had a guest in their locker room. It was none other than American reality TV star Kim Kardashian. The ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ star was accompanied by her daughter North West, who is a big basketball fan.
When Brink appeared on the latest episode of the NBA star Paul George’s ‘Podcast P with Paul George,’ she shared her experience of meeting Kardashian and her daughter.
“North is a sweetheart, I gave her a pair of shoes, actually a pair of Steph shoes. People don’t know that she is huge Steph fan,” Brink said. [01:00:40]
Given Steph’s impact on the young generation, it all makes sense. The Sparks’ star also gifted North her LA Sparks jersey, which obviously was too long for North, considering Brink’s towering height.
Brink and the other WNBA stars are at the turning point of the WNBA. Not only has there been an increase in the league’s popularity, but the stars are also enjoying unprecedented fame in and outside basketball.
From singers and rappers showing up to watch the WNBA games to stars enjoying celebrity treatment at the Met Gala, things are perhaps starting to fall into the right places.
As for the Sparks and Brink, they are experiencing a slow start to the season. They have yet to win a game this season, and their latest loss came against the defending champions, the Las Vegas Aces. Brink is averaging 7.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.5 blocks per game in her rookie season.
Cameron Brink made Kawhi Leonard laugh
Kawhi Leonard is considered one of the funniest people by his teammates but he has barely been seen laughing publicly,
But Cameron Brink changed the air around Leonard very quickly. In the conversation with Paul George, Brink said that she made Leonard laugh so hard during a shoot for New Balance.
“He [Kawhi] is funny as sh*t. … And all the New Balance guys, like our head marketing guy was like, ‘We haven’t seen anybody make him laugh more than you’. So, I was like, give me my flowers. Kawhi, if you’re watching this,” Brink said.
Brink made history earlier when she became the only female player to sign with New Balance. In 2023, when she played for Stanford, she signed a NIL deal with the company.
True to her talent, Cameron Brink has been an excellent addition to the Sparks. She has proved early in the season that she will be an excellent defensive player and perhaps would win a few Defensive Player of the Year awards.
