Brooke Is About To Make The Biggest Mistake Of Her Life On The Bold & The Beautiful

This week on The Bold and the Beautiful, things are hotting up in the romance department, and, as always, Brooke seems to be front and center. The love triangle between her, Taylor and Ridge looks set to come to an explosive head this week, and hearts are set to be broken all across LA. One of The Bold and the Beautiful‘s most enduring stories is the star-crossed love between Brooke and the eldest Forrester son, Ridge. The duo have been the enduring love affair of the show, having been on again and off again for years, and have even been married to one another a staggering eight times.

Brooke is so enamored with the idea of Ridge as her soulmate that she often makes the wrong choices, and I’m concerned she’s heading down a familiar path with this week’s The Bold and the Beautiful revelations. It’s going to be a big week of changes and choices, and it’s not just the triangle of Ridge, Brooke, and Taylor who are going to get mixed up in it. Following Nick Marone’s return to The Bold and the Beautiful last week, Brooke’s ex-husband looks set to try to win her back once and for all, but ultimately it will be down to her.

Taylor’s Proposal Is Going To Cause Chaos

There is no doubt Nick’s return is likely to spark some sort of romantic rivalry between him and Ridge, with Brooke in the middle. However, in another key twist, Taylor is set to propose to Ridge, really throwing the whole situation for a loop. This will mean Ridge will need to make a decision, and could prompt Brooke to pursue him more aggressively in order to convince him not to accept Taylor’s proposal. Taylor and Ridge have also had a tumultuous romance full of ups and downs, but there seems to be a genuine and deep connection between them.

Katherine Kelly Lang has played Brooke Logan since the show premiered in 1987, and is the only cast member (alongside John McCook) to have appeared in the soap since its debut.

While Taylor, not unlike Brooke, is drawn to the drama of dating Ridge, and the fact that he is a “project,” she does seem to be interested in him in a way that is healthy. The question of who is the better choice for Ridge is difficult to nail down, but one thing is clear, Brooke is unlikely to go down with a fight, which is bad news for Nick. Since returning, he has made his intentions towards Brooke very clear, but it is clear he is far more invested in Brooke than she is in him, which I feel is going to lead to Brooke making the wrong choice… again.

The Taylor-Ridge-Brooke love triangle has spanned some thirty years, so this is a tried and tested formula by this stage. Of course, Taylor and Ridge have also been married before (as have Taylor and Nick), and the merry-go-round of revolving romance is showing little sign of slowing down. I think the right play for Brooke would be to choose Nick, settle down with him, and try to have something resembling a healthy, balanced relationship. She needs to leave the toxicity of Bridge and Raylor behind, and leave Ridge and Taylor to their lives.

While both Brooke and Taylor have been married to Ridge in the past, Taylor has actually enjoyed the longest marriage with the dynamic fashion magnate, from 1998-2006.

Unfortunately, I think Taylor’s concrete move for marriage will push Brooke to pursue him more aggressively, and there is always a chance of those two getting together. Nick is the sensible and more balanced choice, but Brooke likes the passionate, tumultuous, drama-filled nature of her coupling with Ridge, and I think she just finds Nick too safe and boring.

The Merry-Go-Round Doesn’t Look Like It Will End Any Time Soon

As one of the longest-running TV shows of all time, The Bold and the Beautiful‘s most prominent love triangle between Brooke, Taylor, and Ridge doesn’t look like it’s going to ease up any time soon. I would actually love for Ridge to choose Taylor over Brooke, forcing his one-time true love to rethink her life, and straighten out her priorities. If Ridge choosing Taylor is what it takes for Brooke to get the message and move on from him, then that still works out well, and will leave room for Brooke and Nick to finally work things out.

Things are going to be even more strained between love rivals Brooke and Taylor, no matter which way things go down. I’m hopeful Nick and Brooke can finally have a reciprocal long-term relationship, but it seems likely Brooke will continue to pine for Ridge. In many ways, the two are soul mates, but they just seem to have too many obstacles to keeping them happy. Brooke and Sheila’s The Bold and the Beautiful rivalry will pretty much continue no matter what, but if she can put Ridge and Taylor behind her, life (and love) might be looking up for Brooke.
