Bronny James Stats Tonight: LA Lakers rookie endures forgettable outing in Summer League game vs Boston Celtics (July 15)

LA Lakers rookie Bronny James’ shooting struggles continued in Monday’s Summer League game against the Boston Celtics. James finished the game with two points on 1 for 5 shooting, including 0-3 from deep. James added three rebounds, one assist and two turnovers as the Lakers fell 88-74 to the Celtics.

Unlike in his debut against the Houston Rockets, James wasn’t very aggressive on offense. He missed the only shot he took and didn’t have a rebound or assist in the first 10 minutes.

Early in the game, the rookie passed up on an open 3-pointer. It was the kind of shot he didn’t hesitate to take against the Rockets a few nights ago. James did show his defensive skills though by breaking up a 4-on-1 Celtics fastbreak.

Bronny didn’t have plenty of opportunities on offense in the second quarter. He took two shots, both of them 3-pointers, and missed. James had two rebounds in 12 minutes in the first half against the Celtics.

James had another quiet quarter to start the second half. He took one shot, another one from deep, and missed it. LeBron James’ son is now 0 for 15 from 3-point range this summer. He didn’t make a basket until late in the fourth quarter.

Bronny had struggled in his Summer League debut against the Rockets in Las Vegas on Thursday. He finished that game with eight points, six of which came in the first quarter. LeBron James’ son went 3 for 14, including 0 for 8 from deep, in the Lakers’ 99-80 loss to the Rockets.

New Lakers coach JJ Redick was unfazed by James’ struggles on the offensive end. Redick, instead, praised the former USC Trojan’s instincts and potential on defense, and predicted he could have a similar impact to OKC Thunder guard Lu Dort.

Bronny James wins NBA Summer League Call of Duty video game tournament

Bronny James may be in a “mini-slump” on the court, but his video gaming skills and confidence have not taken a hit. The LA Lakers rookie blew away the field in a Call of Duty competition.

Media personality Arash Markazi reported the details:

“Lakers rookie Bronny beat Charlotte Hornets forward Grant Williams, winning the Call of Duty Modern Warfare III tournament, which took place at the Encore Las Vegas in conjunction with the NBA Summer League.

“James defeated Williams in a special Modern Warfare III map to win the event.”

However, many basketball fans poked fun at James, urging him to stop “side quests” and concentrate on basketball.
