The Voice is officially shaking things up in a major way for Season 27 – and fans are delighted with the changes.
It appears they also heard fan demands for one of the former judges to return–though it’s not the same one they had previously hoped for.
In an announcement on social media, NBC shared that Adam Levine, who appeared on the show for the first 16 seasons before exiting, is set to make his long-awaited return to the series.
He will be joined by John Legend, who is returning after taking Season 26 off, Buble, and new coach Kelsea Ballerini.
Ballerini will have big shoes to fill and compete with when she debuts on the panel.
While it’s not clear how Buble will fare as a coach since he is only first joining the panel in the Fall, Legend and Levine have both been forces during their respective seasons.
While Legend only won once, it was on his first season as a coach on the show. Levine, meanwhile, won the show’s first, fifth and ninth seasons.
The only other coaches to win more were Shelton, who took the title nine times before leaving the show after Season 22, and Kelly Clarkson, who won four times in the nine seasons she coached.
However, while fans are excited to see Ballerini, they are more ecstatic that Levine will be making his return, just after ratings took a dip and fans expressed that they were less enthused by it.
“Now I can watch @NBCTheVoice again, you are that show, never the same without you!!” one fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
