BREAKING NEWS: Jeopardy! There is a big change in the broadcast schedule in the new episode that makes fans uncomfortable

Jeopardy! has major schedule change during new episode as viewers are left ‘frustrated’ over ‘unpleasant surprise’

JEOPARDY! was preempted on Thursday and left fans frustrated because they didn’t get a warning about it.

The game show was delayed in certain areas when another program took its place.

Jeopardy! typically airs every weekday at 7pm EST on ABC.

However, the Republican National Convention has been taking over TV this week.

It aired from July 15 to July 18 at 8pm EST on CBS.

The RNC made a lot of programs delayed and it was no exception for the beloved game show.

Reddit users informed other fans that Jeopardy! was not going to air at its normal time in Arizona.

“If there are any Arizona Jeopardy fans out there, it was postponed by the RNC tonight (7/18),” they wrote.

“I contacted KTVK Channel 3 and asked about our show. Per the email I received, Jeopardy will air at 11:30 pm tonight.”

‘UNPLEASANT SURPRISE’

Reddit users chimed in on the original post to express their frustration.

“Appreciate the heads up, I was also in for an unpleasant surprise when I went to watch my recording and it had the RNC on. Just to be on the safe side I’m recording their entire overnight schedule,” one fan said.

A fan in San Francisco said that their TV went from the RNC to news and never aired Jeopardy!.

Ken Jennings leaves fans offended after ‘cheap shot’ towards Jeopardy!’s new champ Jay Fisher
“Weird night all around,” they wrote.

“Omg I’m sitting here pissed,” said another.

“This is frustrating. Why does it have to be on every channel?” asked a fan.

The RNC does not air tonight, so Jeopardy! should be back to its regular schedule for Friday.

Jeopardy! Host Timeline

Jeopardy! has had a tumultuous history regarding hosts after the death of the iconic Alex Trebek in 2020. Here are all of the hosts since the game show’s inception in 1964.

Art Fleming – 1964 to 1975, he was the original host of the daytime version of Jeopardy! on NBC.

Alex Trebek – 1984 to 2020, the late, great Alex hosted Jeopardy!’s modern iteration for 36 years until his death from pancreatic cancer.

Guest hosts – 2020 to 2021, Jeopardy! tested out a series of guest hosts for week or two-week stints, including Anderson Cooper, LaVar Burton, and Aaron Rodgers.

Mike Richards – 2021, he was named host for one week before resigning amid controversy. He was the show’s executive producer at the time.

Mayim Bialik – 2021 to 2023, when Mike was announced as the show’s new host, Mayim was chosen to host tournaments and primetime specials.

Mayim and Ken Jennings – 2022 to 2023, 74-time champion Ken (the longest-winning contestant ever) joined Mayim as a guest host and they split hosting duties.

Ken Jennings – 2023 to present. Last December, Mayim announced on Instagram that she would “no longer” host Jeopardy! after a lengthy hiatus, having stood with the writer’s strike, and Ken was named sole host.

Ken now helms all editions of Jeopardy! including Celebrity Jeopardy!, the nightly show, and other primetime specials like Masters.

CURRENT CHAMP

For those who didn’t get to see the latest episode, they missed Jay Fischer snag his third win.

He faced Meredith Miller from Arlington, Virginia, and Micah-Rahn-Tiemer from Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Before his third game, Jay had a two-day total of $16,199.

He became the current champion by dethroning fan-favorite Isaac Hirsch.

By the end of the game, the contestant had a three-day total of $28,200.

Jay will be back for his fourth game tonight, July 19.
