Breaking New: ‘SNL’ Star Ben Marshall Claims to be ‘a Little Bit’ Responsible For Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Romance

Could the comedy trio Please Don’t Destroy have played a part in igniting the spark between Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift?

Their burgeoning romance has captivated fans worldwide, and there’s speculation that the SNL comedians may have had a hand in it — though they’re a bit hesitant to claim credit, especially if things turn sour down the road.

Ben Marshall, John Higgins, and Martin Herlihy, the minds behind Please Don’t Destroy, recently chatted with Mike Birbiglia on his podcast, Working It Out.

During the conversation, they reminisced about their collaborations with Swift on various music videos, as well as Kelce’s stint on SNL in 2023, where he appeared in one of their sketches.

“It’s funny, we worked with both Taylor and Travis Kelce before they started dating,” Marshall revealed. “Taylor mentioned to us that she saw Travis on SNL and in our video and thought he was funny. So, in a way, we might have played a part in bringing them together.”

While Marshall seemed eager to spill the beans, he also expressed some reservations about taking credit, fearing backlash from Swift’s devoted fanbase.

“We thought about sharing the story on Fallon, but then we realized, if they ever break up, we might get blamed for it,” he admitted. “It’s a delicate situation because people feel so strongly about Taylor.”

Indeed, Swift and Please Don’t Destroy’s collaboration dates back to 2021 when she appeared in one of their sketches alongside Pete Davidson.

Kelce, on the other hand, crossed paths with the comedy trio during his SNL hosting gig in 2023.

Kelce’s admiration for Swift blossomed when he attended her Eras Tour last year, attempting to pass her his number on a friendship bracelet.

While his initial attempt failed, they eventually connected, with Swift showing her support by attending Kansas City Chiefs games.

Their relationship has flourished amidst their hectic schedules, with sources revealing that Kelce went the extra mile to support Swift during her recent shows in Australia.

“Taylor and Travis are both incredibly busy, but they’re making an effort to prioritize each other,” a source disclosed. “Travis is smitten with Taylor and wanted to be there for her during her shows. They’re both making a joint effort to make it work.”
