A Jeopardy! contestant shared their story and stole everyones hearts.
On the Monday, March 10 episode of the trivia game show, viewers saw microchet artist from Rock Hill, S.C. Sabrina Blanks and attorney and worldwide karaoke singer originally from West Orange, N.J., Harvey Silikovitz, face eight game winner, Laura Faddah, a manager from Memphis, T.N.
Harvey instantly became a fan favorite before the first commercial break. Host Ken Jennings had each of the contestants give a fact about themselves and Harvey shared his journey to get on the show. He revealed that in 2019 he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, a progressive movement disorder of the nervous system.
Harvey said: “In 2019, I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s but I continued chasing the dream and now here I am.”

He continued: “I wouldn’t recommend that as a preparation strategy for doing well on the show but after living with Parkinson’s for 5 1/2 years, it’s no longer about wanting to do well for myself, I would like to give hope and inspiration to the people living with chronic illnesses.”
Viewers at home were moved by his story. One person on X, formerly known as Twitter, wrote: “Even though Harvey is battling Parkinson’s Disease, that did not stop him from trying out for the show. Now he’s on the Alex Trebek stage competing. Harvey, you are one strong determined contestant. I [clapping hands emoji] you.” Another person wrote: “So impressive that with obvious physical challenges, Harvey is ringing in first! Just inspiring!” A third person posted: “I’m rooting for Harvey.” A fourth wrote: “OMG! Harvey’s story. I am in tears in awe! What an inspiration to all with debilitating illness. And he’s kicking butt!”
Harvey ended up dominating Jeopardy! even though he got the Final Jeopardy! clue wrong. The category was “World Flags” with the clue being: “A dark blue square in the upper left corner of the flag of this country represents the continent of Africa.”
Viewers gushed over Harvey’s win and will continue rooting for him on the next episode.
