Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani took to the stage of the Academy of County Music awards to perform a beautiful duet, but fans couldn’t help but feel awkward about it.

The Voice judges sang a duet of Purple Irises, only moments after Shelton’s ex-wife, Miranda Lambert, debuted her new song Wranglers.

Fans are dubbing Shelton and Stefani’s performance “bold” as they sang it right in front of Lambert.

Stefani wore a dazzling purple outfit on stage, which was also purple and showed a stained glass image of purple irises.

Meanwhile, her husband wore a simple suit and strummed along with the backing band.

Still, fans on X, formerly Twitter couldn’t get over how awkward the performance was simply because Lambert was in the audience.

One person posted: “Blake Shelton singing a love song duet with Gwen Stefani in front of his ex wife… Bold.”

“They performed minutes apart, so they definitely ran into each other backstage. that must have been so awkward and uncomfortable,” another noted.

“Blake Shelton hasn’t been the same since screwing up what he had with Miranda Lambert,” a third added.

Another countered: “Blake Shelton going from Miranda lambert to Gwen Stefani might possibly be the biggest upgrade of all time.”

Shelton was still married to his first wife when he recorded a duet with Lambert.

She was engaged at the time to country singer Jeff Allen McManus.
