The Los Angeles Dodgers are rolling. After suffering a rough stretch, which included a three-game losing streak in the middle of April, the Dodgers have since won nine of their last 12, including their last three straight. Tyler Glasnow and Max Muncy were big parts of why last night, as the Dodgers crushed the Atlanta Braves 11-2 to secure the series.
Glasnow, as has been the case all season, was spectacular on Saturday against Atlanta. He went seven innings on the mound, striking out 10 batters while surrendering just five hits, two runs, and one walk. When Glasnow exited the game before the eighth inning, the Dodgers had a 10-2 lead and easily finished off the victory to give Glasnow his MLB-leading sixth win of the season.
Glasnow told the media after his dominant outing against the Braves that he felt better as the game went along.
“Honestly, it was probably after the fourth inning or so that I felt pretty good,” Glasnow said (via the LA Times’ Mike DiGiovanna). “The velocity and stuff was there when I wanted it to be later in the at-bats. And as the game kept going, I just kept feeling better and better.”

The MLB leader in starts (8), Tyler Glasnow is now 6-1 on the year, which ties his 2019 campaign for the second-most of his career. Only last season 10 wins were more in a single season. Additionally, Glasnow is the MLB leader in innings pitched (50.0), strikeouts (63), and batters faced (195).

Saturday marked the third time this season Glasnow has gone seven innings or more; he held the Minnesota Twins to three hits and no runs on April 9, and he pitched eight scoreless innings against the New York Mets on April 21. His only loss of the season so far came on April 15, when he allowed eight hits and six runs in five innings to the Washington Nationals.
In addition to Glasnow’s performance on the mound, Max Muncy delivered at the plate. The Dodgers’ third baseman went 4-5 on Saturday and jacked three home runs for a 4-RBI day.
“It was a really cool moment for me, first time I’ve ever done that,” Muncy said. “I’ve felt good at the plate the last couple weeks. I know the results aren’t always there, but I feel like I’ve put together some decent at-bats. Sometimes you get tough pitches. Tonight I was able to get the barrel to the ball a little bit better.”
For the season, Muncy, a two-time All-Star, has batting splits of .262 AVG / .369 OBP / .551 SLG / .921 OPS. During the Dodgers’ hot stretch over the last few weeks, he is batting .313 at the plate and has a 1.213 OPS.
As a result of their strong play recently, the Dodgers have built a 4.5-game lead on the San Diego Padres, who sit in second place in the NL West. At 22-13, the Dodgers appear to finally be hitting the stride many expected of them when they acquired Glasnow and signed Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto in the offseason.
The Dodgers finish up their weekend home series with the Braves today at 1:10 p.m. PT.
