This past weekend, Chicago Sky star Angel Reese drew some criticism when she appeared to take a shot at her fellow WNBA rookie Caitlin Clark.

Reese appeared to call out Clark on social media following the Sky’s win over the New York Liberty on Thursday.

She’s since deleted the post.

“And that’s on getting a WIN in a packed area not just ’cause of one player on our charter flight,” Reese wrote on X.

The following day, Reese’s mother took to social media to defend her daughter. In doing so, she made it very clear that the Reese family has no ill will toward the WNBA’s No. 1 overall pick.

Reese’s mother, also named Angel, instead directed her frustrations at the media.

“She was not attacking CC but bc you & the rest of those ‘children of the corn’ folks thought she was & once again sending her racist & vile comments she did. Her comment was directed towards the media but of course you’re about clicks,” she wrote.

There’s no question that Caitlin Clark is changing the game in a big way, but there’s plenty of other stars making an impact as well.

Reese, the daughter, made that very clear with her recent comments.

“It’s not just one person, I think people don’t realize that (because) the narrative out there is that just one person changing the game,” Reese said Thursday. “It’s a lot of us — me, Kamilla (Cardoso ), there’s Cameron (Brink), Rickea (Jackson). There’s so many great players and it’s been long overdue and just being able to see that our impact has been able to change the game.”
