Angel Reese Had Four Words to Describe Caitlin Clark Before Their Final College Matchup

Just as many fans had hoped, Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese met for one last college matchup in this year’s NCAA Tournament.

In a rematch of last year’s National Championship game, Clark and the No. 1 seed Iowa Hawkeyes faced off against Reese and the No. 3 seed LSU Tigers in the Elite Eight.

Last year, Reese and Clark battled it out in an instant classic. LSU ultimately came out on top in the national title matchup — and Reese made sure to let Clark know with some trash talk.

Last year’s title game sparked one of the biggest player-to-player rivalries in college basketball. But, this competitive nature led many to the misconception that these superstars hate each other.

Based on comments from both sides, Reese and Clark have a great deal of respect for one another.

“She’s just a killer…” Reese said during a press conference before this year’s Elite Eight matchup.

“She’s just a really smart player. She has a great mentality to get everyone involved, but also takes great shots and makes great shots,” Reese continued, via Iowa basketball reporter Blake Hornstein.

Clark and Iowa ultimately came out on top in this year’s matchup. Clark finished with 41 points, 12 assists and seven rebounds, out-dueling Reese’s 20-point, 17-rebound double-double.

Now, Reese and Clark will look forward to matchups at the WNBA level. Clark went No. 1 overall to the Indiana Fever and Reese was selected by the Chicago Sky at No. 7 overall.
