Al Roker terrifies Today co-hosts with Beetlejuice costume – and Hoda Kotb recoils at his ‘hideous teeth’

AL Roker stole the show on the Today Show this morning with a dramatic transformation into Beetlejuice.
The TV weatherman, 70, was unrecognizable as the playful poltergeist, complete with the iconic pinstripe black-and-white suit, chalky white complexion and tufts of grey hair.

Joining in on the fun of Halloween, The Today Show cast all got dressed up for the occasion, though for Hoda Kotb, it was Al who made the biggest impression.
“Al wins the make-up award,” she told cameras. “You know what else he wins? The hideous teeth award.
“I couldn’t look at him. Like inside his mouth is… scary!”
Al later took to the stage on the Today Plaza to host fun and games with onlookers, including a ‘VHS Rewind’ which tested the knowledge of 80s and 90s movies.

Co-star Dylan Dreyer kept within the Beetlejuice theme, donning a huge ruffled red dress to turn into Lydia Beetz, played by Winona Ryder.
Beetlejuice is the go-to costume for celebs this year, thanks to the revival sequel to the 1988 movie, aptly titled Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, which stormed the box office this summer.
Both Kelly Clarkson and Mark Consuelos also transformed into the spirit, played by Michael Keaton in the movies.
Hoda and co-host Jenna Bush Hader went for a far less scary choice, transforming into tragic lovers, Jack and Rose from Titanic – even creating scenes from the 1997 movie.
Willie Geist became Ron Burgundy from Anchorman in a suitably fitting choice, while Peter Alexander became Mrs Doubtfire complete with a dance routine with a vacuum cleaner.
Sheinelle Jones took inspiration from Beyonce and became Foxy Cleopatra from Austin Powers’ movie Goldmember, with Carson Daly becoming the 70s swinging spy alongside her.

Savannah Guthrie became Elle Woods from Legally Blonde, with Luke Wilson – who played love interest Emmett in the rom-com classic – making a surprise appearance to be alongside her.
Completing the team was Craig Melvin as Eddie Murphy character Axel Foley from Beverly Hills Cop, and Laura Jarrett, who became Clovers head cheerleader Isis from Bring It On.
