WNBA Fans Outraged Over ESPN’s Angel Reese Decision

WNBA fans are outraged with ESPN’s decision not to broadcast Angel Reese’s debut with the Chicago Sky.

Reese plays her first WNBA game with the Sky against the Dallas Wings on Wednesday, but it won’t be airing on ESPN. With that said, many are not too happy with the decision, especially since the network covered Caitlin Clark’s WNBA debut with the Indiana Fever.

“ESPN trippin for not finding a spot for Angel Reese debut,” one said.

Another critic said, “WNBA gone give Caitlin Clark ESPN and give Angel Reese debut non televised on twitter lol see how they playing it.”

“Dawg why is the Chicago sky game not on espn wtf… they tryna charge me 35 for a league pass on YOUTUBE? Angel Reese and Kamila have both carried teams to chips how they not getting espn…” a confused commenter added.

A fourth Reese fan shared, “People would tune in on this angel Reese game if it was on espn.. smh guess ima buy the wnba pass bc I’ll support but this game needs to be on espn!!”

It looks like ESPN didn’t learn some lesson during the offseason when the WNBA didn’t broadcast Angel Reese’s preseason debut with the Sky against the Minnesota Lynx. Instead, fans tuned in on a live stream by a fan for the said game, generating over 500,000 total views.

Hopefully, ESPN will hear the fans’ pleas and show Reese and the Sky more consistently. With two great rookies in Reese and Kamilla Cardoso, Chicago is definitely a must-watch this 2024 season.
