Fox News’ Will Cain Taking Over Outgoing Neil Cavuto’s Time Slot — What Other Changes Are in Store?

Fox News Media announced Monday that Fox & Friends Weekend co-host Will Cain will be taking over the exiting Neil Cavuto‘s 4 pm weekday time slot with The Will Cain Show. The big change kicks off Tuesday, Jan. 21 on Fox News Channel, TVLine has learned.

Cain’s new show will feature “conversations with newsmakers from across politics, business, culture and sports,” offering “a comprehensive look at the news of the day in a signature podcast style.” In addition, Fox News contributor Charlie Hurt will take Cain’s spot on Fox & Friends Weekend beginning Saturday, Jan. 18.

But that’s not the only forthcoming shake-up at the media company. The Fox Report and The Big Weekend Show will both expand to two hours on Saturdays and Sundays (also starting Jan. 18), while Fox Business Network’s Dagen McDowell will join The Big Money Show which will expand to a two-hour slot at 12 pm on weekdays starting Monday, Jan. 27. She will also continue to co-host The Bottom Line at 6 pm.

“As the media landscape continues to evolve, we are always looking to innovate our programming lineup to meet the needs of our viewers, and we are confident the new lineup will best position Fox News Media for the future,” Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott said in a statement. “Will Cain brings years of experience to the 4 pm hour as an accomplished broadcaster and a lawyer, and we look forward to adding his insights to what will no doubt be another historic news cycle ahead this year.”

Added Cain: “It has been an honor to wake up with America these past four years and I am thrilled to apply my background in news, law, entertainment and business to help our viewers better understand the headlines through thought-provoking content and analysis every weekday afternoon.”

Cavuto, who has been an on-air personality at Fox News for nearly 30 years, announced his exit from the company in December. Though he was offered a new deal at Fox after his current contract expired, he declined to renew.
