As Tom and Giovanna Fletcher celebrated their wedding anniversary, some eagle-eyed fans questioned whether it was a nod to her appearing on Strictly Come Dancing.

At the time, she recalled: “That was my Valentine’s present. It was coming up to Valentine’s Day, Tom hadn’t got me a Valentine’s present, so he got into the studio and just literally wrote it super quickly.

He said ‘it’s just one of those songs that just came out’ and recorded a version that’s just him, really beautiful, and then gave me the disc for Valentine’s Day.”

The song proved a hit to fans as well as Giovanna, and was chosen as the single for Comic Relief in 2005 as she explained: “Then Comic Relief got in touch and said, ‘we want you to do the song and lead the campaign this year, do you have anything that’s appropriate?”

Tom and Giovanna tied the knot in May 2012 after several years of dating and have since given birth to their three children, Buzz, Buddy and Max.
