Some viewers even said it “sucked” because of the “monotone” performances from the finalists, with some of the song choices slammed.
On Monday night, a week on from fans saying there was a production error, the five finalists took to the stage for the last time to perform songs they believed would win them the entire 26th season.
Danny Joseph, Jeremy Beloate, Shye, Sydney Sterlace and Sofronio Vasquez all performed their hearts out on Monday.
Each contestant is now likely hoping they have done what it takes to be crowned champion and win the coveted $100,000 and additional recording contract, with the winner set to be announced tonight.
On Monday for part one of the finale, each artist performed twice in the episode.
They each crooned a ballad and an uptempo number.
However, it seems some viewers were less than impressed by the artists’ song choices.
Reacting to the finale performances, one person on Reddit started a new thread and wrote, “Just my opinion, but I’m really underwhelmed with the singers that are left as well as the song choices for the finale.”
‘MONOTONE AND WEAK’
Someone then responded, “The lineup itself is great, it’s just that none of them performed up to their usual standard except Shye and Sofronio.”
Another agreed, “Same, nobody really wowed me tonight.”
Someone else penned, “I’ve only been loosely keeping up with this season but every time I’m watching I’m like ‘This is what we’re left with?’.”
Meanwhile, fans on X, formerly known as Twitter, were also quick to weigh in with their thoughts.
“#TheVoice What is going on? Everyone sounds so weak tonight. Honestly, Shye ruined that song. Her voice was so monotone and weak. This season’s final sucks so far,” penned one.
Another added, “Everyone has not done well!!!!! Love Sofronio though. He’s doing great.”
