Ken Jennings received rave reviews from Jeopardy! fans after his small quips about a Double Jeopardy category.
During the Invitational Tournament episode that aired on Tuesday, Feb, 25, Ryan Long, a rideshare driver from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Robin Carroll, an instructional designer from Atlanta, Georgia; and Ray Lalonde, a scenic artist from Toronto, Ontario all faced off.
Though the players competed well, most of the attention was on Ken and his reaction to one specific category. Going into Double Jeopardy, Ken read out the categories. “First unfortunately we have ‘Fascism’,” he said, throwing in his own commentary on the subject before reading the other categories: Getting Possessive; Olden Language; You Say You Want an Evolution; Film Composers; and World Religion.
“Ray, what appeals to you?” Ken asked the contestant whose turn it was to pick. The scenic artist said: “Fascism,” earning laughter from the audience as Ken quipped: “Sorry to hear that.”
One of the categories of the night was ‘Fascism’ (

Ray later found the Daily Double in that category, going all in on a clue about George Soros growing up in fascist Hungary. But before he answered, Ken joked: “Ray I hate to ask but how confident are you about fascism?” enjoying the play on words.
Fans enjoyed the small quips Ken threw in about fascism, noting the current political climate. “Well, that’s a category title that’ll polarize the #Jeopardy viewership,” one person wrote on X, formally known as Twitter.
Another person posted a bunch of thumbs-up emojis and quoted what Ken said when the last question in the category was finally chosen: “Hopefully we’ll finish with fascism here.” A third wrote: #Jeopardy asking a question about George Soros escaping Fascist Hungary as a child and giving MAGA grandparents a stroke.”
On the daily Reddit discussion thread for the game, viewers also commented on the category and Ken’s distaste for it. “What a wild history category LMAO,” one fan wrote.
“Absolutely living for Ken’s public and unabashed disdain for fascism. You and me both, GOAT!” another said. A third cheered: “YES KEN.”
