Gwen Stefani has opened up ahead of her hotly anticipated No Doubt reunion, explaining the band could get up to “anything”.
Bassist Tony Kanal, guitarist Tom Dumont and drummer Adrian Young are coming together with the chart-topping singer at this month’s Coachella festival. They’ve been on hiatus since 2013 and Gwen has given more information about the band’s comeback in a new interview with Nylon magazine, saying it’s “going to be a really nice bow to tie”.
“I already know what it’s going to feel like because we’re just so in sync when we’re onstage. It’s going to feel like riding a bike again. We’re going to be laughing, and we’re going to look at each other and go, ‘Oh my gosh — there you are’,” she explained.

She says the band haven’t hung out or “done anything” ahead of the reunion later this month and aren’t even in frequent communication. Gwen joked they should go to therapy, quipping: “We need to, probably. But we have a lot of water under the bridge.”
“Well, I don’t have a crystal ball. Most things have surprised me in life. One of the things I’ve learned is to be present in the moment and try to absorb what’s happening around me instead of looking ahead,” she added of the comeback this weekend.
Announcing the news last week, a statement on No Doubt’s socials read: “We’ll see you in the desert this April!!!” Later in her interview, the 54-year-old spoke candidly about her husband, who she’s been married to since 2021, during the chat with Nylon.
She acknowledged that throughout their careers in the spotlight, she and her husband have been the subject of different rumours, including claims that they’re getting divorced, calling the speculation “lies”. Stefani insisted they don’t let noise affect their personal or professional relationship, as they recently wrote a song, Purple Irises.
“But when you’re in love and have truly aligned values, nobody can get to us. You can say whatever you want to say about our relationship – I mean, a week ago we were getting divorced again or something,” she said, referring to US rumours.

“It’s just lies. The truth is the truth, and we know what that is. And so that [negativity] would never penetrate just by me being vulnerable and sharing a song that I didn’t write for anybody else but myself and Blake.” She also expressed that when she wrote about thriving flowers for her song, it reminded her to take a step back from insecurities.
